7:50am- Morning Water Aerobics is CANCELED this morning. We will update this post when we can open the indoor pool.

The Indoor Pool is currently closed due to lightning in the surrounding area. We will continue to monitor the weather and make a decision on 8:15 Water Aerobics shortly. Please keep checking this post for updates.

🌊 JOIN US FOR ONE LAST SPLASH! ☀️

The Wamego Aquatic Center Outdoor Pool will be open for one final day of the season this Sunday, August 16th!

🏊 Sunday, August 16th
Outdoor Pool: 1 PM–6 PM
Admission: $5

Please note that the Outdoor Pool will be CLOSED Saturday, August 15th. It will reopen Sunday only for our Last Splash before closing for the season.

The Indoor Pool will also be closed Sunday, August 16th so our staff can focus on safely operating the Outdoor Pool for one last summer swim.

Grab your swimsuits and come spend one more afternoon at the Outdoor Pool with us! We hope to see you Sunday! 💦☀️

📣 UPDATE: Our remaining Outdoor Pool schedule is now confirmed. The Outdoor Pool will be closed Saturday, August 15th, but will reopen for one final day of outdoor swimming on Sunday, August 16th! The Indoor Pool will be closed on August 16th so our staff can focus on providing one last day at the Outdoor Pool. After August 16th, the Outdoor Pool will be closed for the season.

🏊 LAST WEEK FOR WEEKDAY OUTDOOR SWIM! ☀️

The Wamego Aquatic Center Outdoor Pool will operate on its regular summer schedule through Sunday, August 9th. Beginning Monday, August 10th, the Outdoor Pool will be closed on weekdays.

Our goal is to continue offering weekend swimming through Labor Day weekend. However, many of our lifeguards return to school in mid-August, and we must have enough trained staff available to operate the pool safely. Because of this, our weekend hours beginning Saturday, August 15th are still being determined.

We are working hard to stay open as much as we safely can and will share the complete weekend schedule on Facebook as soon as it is confirmed!

While we work to finalize the Outdoor Pool’s remaining schedule, it’s a great time to check out all the ways you can continue enjoying the Wamego Aquatic Center!

🌊 Outdoor Pool | $5 Admission
Regular Summer Hours through Sunday, August 9th
Monday–Friday: 1 PM–6 PM and 7 PM–9 PM
Saturday–Sunday: 1 PM–6 PM

🏊 Indoor Pool | $4 Admission
Year-round schedule—no seasonal changes planned
Monday–Thursday: 6 AM–8 PM
Friday: 6 AM–6 PM
Saturday & Sunday: 12 PM–6 PM

💦 Splash Park | FREE
Open daily from 8 AM–8 PM through approximately mid-October, weather permitting. The temperature must reach above 70 degrees for the Splash Park to open.

Do you enjoy creating content, taking photos, connecting with people, and helping bring community programs to life?

The City of Wamego is hiring a Part-Time Recreation & Aquatic Marketing Assistant to support the Wamego Recreation Department and Wamego Aquatic Center.

This creative, community-focused position will assist with:

📱 Social media content and promotional graphics
📸 Photography and short-form video
🎉 Program and event promotion
🤝 Sponsor outreach, recognition, and relationship building
📅 Marketing calendars, registration reminders, and promotional materials
🌟 Community events and outreach efforts

This position is perfect for someone who is organized, creative, comfortable communicating with local businesses and community members, and excited to help tell the story of Recreation and Aquatics in Wamego.

🕒 Part-time | Approximately 10–15 hours per week
Some evening and weekend availability will be needed for selected programs, games, lessons, and events.
