We had a visitor this morning at the Sheriff’s Office. Jayden made a stop here and got a chance to see some patrol vehicles, meet some of our incredible Deputies, and even got to try on some equipment. He left with a smile and a gold badge and left behind a couple of smiling Deputies! Thanks for visiting!

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office held their
first ever Shop with a Sheriff this morning. Special thanks goes out to all of the members of the Corrections and Criminal divisions. Through their fundraising efforts, we were able to take 18 deserving kids shopping. Each child had $150 to spend on their shopping spree. Also thank you to Walmart, Dunkin Donuts, and Tops for their donations. Several anonymous donors also provided financial assistance to make today happen. Our families also helped by providing gift wrapping for the presents.

A great time was had by all!!!

This is our Christmas Angel Tree on display at our Law Enforcement Building. Just a few weeks ago, this tree was decorated with 20 names of Madison County kids that were in need of some Christmas ‘cheer.’

The members of the PBA and some of the Sheriff’s Office support staff stepped up and showed amazing generosity. There are no tags left on the tree and the gifts are plentiful!

Merry Christmas to all!

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office has gone PINK!

Beginning today, the members of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office will be proudly displaying pink badges in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

09/04/2018

So things are going to start looking a little different here at the Madison County Sheriff's Office.

The Deputy Sheriff's PBA, in partnership with the Corrections Division Teamster Members, are participating in another "No-Shave" Event. Starting September 1, 2018, Deputies and Corrections Officers are enjoying a relaxed facial hair policy if they wish to participate in the event. For a monetary donation, we are putting our razor's away for the next few months!

The past two "No-Shave" events we did were met with huge success. We donated our November 2017 proceeds to Oneida Healthcare and their new Cancer Treatment Center. In March of 2018, we helped one of our own who is battling a form of cancer.

This year...we are doing something a little different. We want YOUR help. In the coming months, a committee comprised of Deputy Sheriff's and Corrections Officers will be going through YOUR recommendations for a Madison County "Not for Profit" that could benefit from a monetary dontation. Submissions from the public will be discussed and decided upon by members of this committee. We expect the first round of donations to be ready in early 2019...so get your submissions ready!

More details to follow...in the meantime, keep your eyes out for our members and encourage their beard growth!

We love Madison County, and love giving back to the communities that we serve! Thank you for your support!

Sheriff Todd Hood and the Madison County Sheriff’s Office sending children off to the New York State Sheriffs' Camp Iroquois in Penn Yan, NY. MCSO provided lunch for the children on their way to camp. The summer camp is for economically challenged children who will benefit from positive interaction with deputies; they will picnic, swim, and play games with the deputy sheriffs in residence. The deputies mentor the children and conduct daily demonstrations of law enforcement techniques and equipment, and weekly presentations regarding illicit drugs and alcohol use. Have a great time at camp!

Cone with a Cop

On May 9, 2018, the Madison County Deputy Sheriff's PBA returned to Bridgeport Elementary to host Cone with a Cop with the remaining grades of Kindergarten through 3rd grade. The program was recently launched last month among the 4th grade class.

Our first two events were a great success and the children really enjoyed their ice cream and time with the law enforcement officers. The PBA and Madison County Sheriff's Office is eager to continue the program at the start of the new school year with the remaining Madison County schools.

Thank you to our volunteers who included, Sheriff Todd Hood, Deputy Frank McCully, Deputy Kevin Feola and Deputy Krystyna Rotella.

Madison County Sheriff’s Office K9 Micah to get body armor

Madison County Sheriff’s Office K9 Micah will receive a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. K9 Micah’s vest is sponsored by an Anonymous Sponsor and will be embroidered with the sentiment “Gifted by Hasday- Be Safe Be Strong”. Delivery is expected within eight to ten weeks.

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. is a 501c (3) charity located in East Taunton, MA whose mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States. The non-profit was established in 2009 to assist law enforcement agencies with this potentially lifesaving body armor for their four-legged K9 officers. Since its inception, Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. provided over 2,800 protective vests, in 50 states, through private and corporate donations, at a cost of over 2.4 million dollars.

The program is open to dogs actively employed in the U.S. with law enforcement or related agencies who are certified and at least 20 months of age. New K9 graduates, as well as K9s with expired vests, are eligible to participate.

The donation to provide one protective vest for a law enforcement K9 is $950.00. Each vest has a value between $1,744 – $2,283 and a five-year warranty, and an average weight of 4-5 lbs. There is an estimated 30,000 law enforcement K9s throughout the United States. For more information or to learn about volunteer opportunities, please call 508-824-6978. Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. provides information, lists events, and accepts tax-deductible donations of any denomination at www.vik9s.org or mailed to P.O. Box 9 East Taunton, MA 02718.

K9 Micah loves her job and is extremely grateful to Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. for donating a vest to help keep her safe. K9 Micah is a 4 year old German shepherd, who is certified in narcotics detection, tracking, building searches and handler protection. She became a member of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office in 2016 after being donated by the German Shepherd Rescue of CNY and completing a three month full time training academy with her handler, Deputy Kevin Feola.

Cone With A Cop

Members of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office volunteered their time to visit with the 4th graders of Bridgeport Elementary today. The Madison County Deputy Sheriff’s PBA donated ice cream and spent the day mingling with the growing minds of tomorrow. The Sheriff’s Office supplied pencils and stickers for the students as well.

The PBA hopes to extend this program to every elementary school in the county. The goal is to create strong, positive relationships with the children in our community.

Our deputies had a wonderful experience today and are looking forward to visiting with other Madison County school students.

The Madison County Deputy Sheriff’s PBA and the Madison County Correction’s Teamster Union will be participating in “Beards for Bucks” for the month of March! Only we are calling it “Mustache March!” Each PBA member will make a monetary donation in exchange for growing a beard and all the funds will be donated to Oneida Healthcare and the Roswell Park Cancer Institute. This month is dedicated to colon/rectal cancer awareness.

When you see your normally clean shaven Madison County Sheriff’s wearing their beards proudly, know it is for a good cause!
