Our Food Drive to benefit the Ocean Township Community Hope Fund is currently underway.

Any non-perishable foods can be dropped off at our firehouse, in boxes by the Sunset Avenue front door and the northeast side door.

Food items can also be brought to our Open House on Saturday, 10/24.

🧾 A Clover invoice to pay online will be emailed to you with your visit info in the details. This invoice will be your confirmation.

🗓️ Clover invoices will start being sent in the near future. Don’t panic if you don’t get yours right away; there are over 200 to send out. (Also check your junk mail)

✅ Once receiving it, review all your visit details. If all is correct, please pay your invoice online.

During the month of October, starting Monday 10/5 and at the Open House, we’ll also be collecting 𝐧𝐨𝐧-𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐬 for a food drive benefiting the 𝐎𝐜𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐓𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐇𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐅𝐮𝐧𝐝.

You can drop off non-perishable food items in the yellow newspaper box on the Sunset Avenue side by the front doors at any time.

We urge everyone to sign up early, as the list fills up fast!

⛈️𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐌 𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐏𝐎𝐍𝐒𝐄 𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄⛈️

Since Friday evening, members of the Wanamassa Fire Company have responded to numerous storm-related emergencies throughout our community.

Crews have handled a wide variety of calls, including:

• 🌳 Downed trees
• ⚡ Downed wires and utility poles
• 🚨 Fire and alarm activations
• 💧 Flooding and other water-related emergencies
• 🚗 Motor vehicle crashes

Our members have worked throughout the storm to respond to calls, assist residents, and help keep our community safe.

As cleanup efforts continue, please use caution when traveling and 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝗿 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗮 𝗳𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁. Treat all downed wires as energized and dangerous.

We thank our members, Township of Ocean Police Department, Twp of Ocean Office of Emergency Management, OT public works crews and all who has been working throughout the storm.

Governor Sherrill has declared a state of emergency ahead of the powerful nor’easter that will affect our area tonight through Sunday. The state of emergency went into effect at 5pm tonight.

⛈️ 3-5” of rain is expected over the weekend by Monday.

💨 Strong winds with gusts up to 60mph are possible.

🌊 Coastal flooding is expected. If you’re in a flood-prone area, it’s recommended to move your vehicles and yourself to higher ground.

🚒 Please stay off of the roads during this time to allow for first responders and utility workers to respond safely to any emergencies that may arise during this storm.

🚙 If you must travel, NEVER drive through flooded streets or over downed power lines.

⚠️ If you observe any downed power lines, please stay clear and call 911.

🔌 If you experience a power outage, please contact JCPL by texting “OUT” to LIGHTS (544487) or by calling 888-LIGHTSS (888-544-4877).

‼️As always, in case of an emergency, call 9-1-1.
