At approximately 2:55 p.m. this afternoon, our day crew was dispatched to a Township address for an adult trauma patient. The crew quickly determined the patient required the services of a trauma center, and a request was made through our dispatch for a medevac helicopter. The patient was ultimately flown from Sussex Airport to the Trauma Center at Morristown Medical Center. We thank our EMS partners, the Paramedics from Saint Clare's Hospital and Atlantic Health's Air Three for their assistance. We also thank the Troopers from the Sussex Barracks of the New Jersey State Police and our dispatchers at the Sussex County Sheriff's 911 Center for their continued support.

High Point Regional EMS 2025 Statistics

During 2025, High Point Regional EMS was dispatched 1103 calls for service, and of those, HPR responded to 997 of those requests, which is 90.4% of our total call volume. Most of the 106 calls we missed were because, for whatever reason, calls seem to come in waves, and we get inundated with two, three, and four calls in a short time. When we have paid staff, volunteers will respond to the additional call volume. If we cannot staff additional trucks, that triggers the need for mutual aid. Of the mutual aid HPR received were handled by Atlantic BLS, Sussex Fire & EMS, Blue Ridge, and St. Clares MICU. We thank all of our M/A partners! During 2025, Additionally, HPR responded to mutual aid requests in Frankford Township, Hampton Township, Montague Township, Sussex Boro, and Vernon Township. We want to sincerely thank everyone for their continued support of High Point Regional EMS and Wantage Township EMS. We would also give a shout-out and thanks to the Sussex County Sheriff’s Dispatch Center.

Looking forward to 2026, we will continue to cover HPRHS football games, and Township activities such as Wantage Day, 5k run, Easter Bunny in the park, Christmas Tree lighting, etc. We would encourage you to join our team! If not as a first responder, reach out to see how you can help behind the scenes! Find more info at https://hprems.org/careers or message us here.
