🚨 CPR Awareness Week: Protecting Every Corner of Auglaize County 🚨
At the Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office, your safety is our absolute mission. That is why we ensure that 100% of our deputies, dispatchers, and corrections officers are fully trained and certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR.
Whether an emergency happens on a rural road, inside our correctional facility, or while you are on the phone with 9-1-1, our team is equipped with the professional lifesaving skills needed to intervene immediately.
But when cardiac arrest happens out in the community, the first few minutes belong to you.
A staggering 90% of people who suffer cardiac arrest outside of a hospital setting do not survive. However, bystander CPR—especially if performed immediately—can double or triple a victim’s chance of survival. Unfortunately, less than half of all people who experience an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest receive CPR before professional help arrives.
Seconds save lives. While our certified deputies and dispatchers will always move swiftly to respond to your call, a prepared community is a resilient community.
This CPR Awareness Week, we challenge you to learn hands-only CPR. You don't need a badge to save a life—you just need the willingness to step up and help a neighbor in need.
