The weather provided the giant Langwood Puddle for a good round of puddle stomping! Campers made drawings for their flashlights, decorated their animal
nose and eyes, and met the snakes. It was a great Tadpole Camp!

It was Seeing Day today! We made camouflaged critters out of clay, used binoculars to observe birds, and explored the critters that live in the pond. We made plantable paper out of recycled paper and coneflower seeds that will hopefully grow into beautiful flowers!

Today’s camp was all about ears! What sounds do birds make? How do frogs hear? We took a puppet hike to the prairie, filled the bird feeders for tomorrow, pretended to be birds, made our own imaginary animal ears, and met a frog!

Day 4 (with some extra pictures from the other days)- the weather was not on our side today! We had to make the best of being inside by learning about frogs and frog eggs. We explored mammal furs and learned about animal tracks. Campers used stuff from our Discovery Bin to make nature sculptures and invent animals. We embraced the rain by becoming rain droplets and exploring the journey that water goes on through animals and plants. The day ended by meeting some 6 legged friends, the hissing cockroaches.

Day 3 used our creativity! We took a hike and gathered nature items to paint with and then we created art with mud paint. Campers made a rock collection by washing rocks to find their favorite. (They also really enjoyed cleaning the sidewalks😀). As the rain rolled in, we hung out with Oscar the Fox Snake and learned about how snakes shed their skin.

It was a HOT one today. We stayed cool by exploring pond life first thing before we made snacks for the birds. We rested while meeting the EE snake and turtles and tie dying our camp shirts! Campers finished up the day with a forest puppet hike and popsicles!

Day 1 of camp! We took our puppets on a hike to the prairie where we matched our puppets with the animals on the interp signs! We learned about bird nests and made bird nests for our colorful plastic eggs. We made edible bird nests for snack! We wrapped up our day going for a bug hunt.
