Louisa County Conservation, alongside Small Auction and Real Estate, is hosting a county auction! In person at 8299 K Ave, in Wapello behind the Farmers Elevator. Saturday, September 12 at 10:00 am. Items include filing cabinets, chairs, push mowers, snow blower, farm equipment, fire pumps, hand tools, two small sheds, and vehicles including a Toyota Sienna, Chevy Malibu and Ford Fusion. Visit the google drive link below to view photos of items to be sold. Check often, more things are being added daily! Images of cars and mileage coming soon. Most items are on display on site - in and around the nearby pole building with sliding doors. For specific questions about items, call 319-523-8381. See you there!

Happy Trails to Bre and Ziva! Summer was so busy that we forgot to introduce them but it’s never too late to give these two fabulous people a round of applause.

Bre came back for her 3rd summer as a Seasonal Naturalist. Bre planned and taught LCC’s summer library programs throughout the county. She was at every summer camp as an integral part of our EE team.

Ziva spent her summer as our day camp staff member. She eagerly stepped in to help campers with everything from crafts to critters including bringing her horse to our Winding Woods and Waterways camp.

We will miss spending each day with both of you! Thank you for everything!

For the last day of Great Escape Camp, we had to escape the storms!

In the morning we headed to Discovery Park, Muscatine County’s nature center. We got to explore the center, the animals there, and go for a hike through the arboretum.

Afterwards we headed to Langwood to splash in puddles, work on our crafts from the week and visit with LCCB animals!

The weather avoided us at camp today, and the group was able to kick off their fort building competition at Virginia Grove.

As a group, we fished with a special guest, Colton from the Big Sand Mound Nature Preserve internship team!

After lunch, we tried bee balm tea with our smores over a campfire.

Need a little cardio or silver cord hours or just want to help us out? Come move the mulch at Columbus High School as we start the process of turning the courtyard into an Outdoor Classroom. Come on over once the storm has passed!
