Indian Peaks Fire Protection District Volunteer Fire Department in Boulder County, Colorado. Our district area is close to 144 sq miles.

We serve a stretch of Highway 72, Left Hand Canyon Road up to MM 10, Brainard Lake Recreational Area, Beaver Reservoir & Rainbow Lakes.

Our critically injured patient seems to be in his way to recovery. We learned the critical importance of always using our scoop and c-collar following Boulder County protocols. When the mechanism of injury is such (high velocity), taking all precautions and having a high index of suspicion is critical. This patient had multiple critical injuries and our response conditions were extremely challenging.

We just finished a challenging extrication of a patient who was having a massive heart attack in one of Brainard Lake trails. We wheeled our very sick patient for one mile. Fortunately our MedEvac partners landed before everything could go south.
