What is a garden? Yesterday, we welcomed Mrs. Echols to our first Summer Storytime of this year!! After reading stories, we talked about soil, sun, air and water. How do each of these make a garden grow? She showed us big sunflowers with small roots, a rhubarb with an edible stalk but poisonous leaf, and plants that grow in the water (with a frog). We even had the chance to smell and stir her compost tea. Then we planted our own, bean, pea or sunflower seeds to take home. Thank you so much to Mrs. Echols for coming to share with us!!

Join us tomorrow (June 18 at 4pm) for this year's first All-Ages Summer Storytime. This is outdoor summertime fun at the Warden Library!! Mrs. Echols joins us to answer "What is a garden?" We will discuss soil, sun, air and water. How do each of these make a garden grow? What crops do we grow here? And much more. We will use what we learn to plant seeds to take home. Once there, what is your responsibility, and what will the plant need to do? Everyone is welcome at this FREE program. See you there!!
