Tonight was our first Council meeting without Councilwoman Patty Walters. We all miss her dearly, and her absence was felt by everyone around the table.

A special thank you to Councilman Powell and his wife, Lisa, for the beautiful flowers that we placed at Patty’s seat tonight. It was a thoughtful gesture and a beautiful way to honor her memory.

We will continue to keep Patty’s family in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Patty will always hold a special place in the hearts of the Town of Ware Shoals.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Councilwoman Patty Walters.

Patty faithfully served the Town of Ware Shoals for 14 years as a member of Town Council. During her years of service, she served on numerous committees and also held the position of Mayor Pro Tem. Her dedication to our town and its people was evident throughout her many years of public service.
Patty truly loved Ware Shoals, and she held a special place in her heart for our senior citizens and the Ware Shoals Senior Center, which she faithfully oversaw and supported for many years. Her commitment to the Senior Center and the people it serves was more than a responsibility,it was something she deeply cared about.

Tonight, we remember Patty with gratitude for her many years of service, her love for our community, and the difference she made in the lives of so many.
We especially lift up Patty’s family during this difficult time. We thank them for sharing her with the Town of Ware Shoals for so many years and for supporting her as she dedicated so much of her life to serving our community.

Rest in peace, Councilwoman Patty Walters. Your service, dedication, and love for Ware Shoals will not be forgotten.

Meet Brandon Cloer, our new Ware Shoals Recreation Supervisor.

Brandon is a Clemson native and Clemson University graduate. He joins us from the City of Clemson, where he served as Facility Coordinator for the Central-Clemson Recreation Center.

Recreation has been a part of Brandon’s life from an early age. His father was the Parks and Recreation Director for the Town of Central. Brandon is excited to bring his experience to Ware Shoals.

He’s especially looking forward to meeting the community and continuing the great work built by former Recreation Supervisor Russell Patterson. Brandon says Ware Shoals reminds him of Central, where he grew up playing youth sports. Both towns share strong community ties and a love for athletics.

Outside of work, Brandon enjoys spending time with family, hunting, trout fishing, Clemson football and basketball, and the occasional NASCAR race. He’s also visited 26 states, many while road-tripping to follow the Tigers.

Join us in welcoming Brandon to Greenwood County.
