Congratulations to our very own FireFighter/EMT Gavin Rohan for his completion of the 10 week career recruit academy program through the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy class S45. We are so proud of his dedication to the Town of Ware and the Ware Fire Department. Over the last 10 weeks Gavin has passed and succeeded in all academic and physical requirements to be a pro-board certified FireFighter for the state of Massachusetts and we are excited to welcome him back on shift to continue his career. Being with Ware Fire since 2022, Gavin had previously proven his dedication through the Call/Volunteer academy in 2023 and was promoted to a full time position in 2025. Job well done and thank you for all you've done!! We cant wait to have you back.

Ware Fire is saddened to share the news of the loss of retired Chief Richard Pariseau. We send our deepest condolences to the family and thank him for his many years of service to the Town of Ware and the Ware Fire Department. Until his final days Richard continued to show his dedication to this department and was always a familiar face. He will be sorely missed. Rest in Peace, Chief.

Our thoughts are with the Boston Fire Department and the family of the hero who tragically lost his life last night in the line of duty...

Last night, the Boston Fire Department and our entire fire service family suffered a devastating loss with the passing of Rescue 2 firefighter Bobby Kilduff while battling a fire in Dorchester.

Bobby was more than just a firefighter. He was a Marine Corps veteran, a dedicated union brother, a proud Boston firefighter for 24 years, and a man who spent his life serving others. Born in 1972, Bobby responded to thousands of incidents over his career with Rescue Company 2, one of the busiest companies in the city. He understood the danger of this job and faced it head-on every single tour.

But beyond the helmet and turnout gear, Bobby was a father first. He loved his children more than anything in this world. Whether it was family trips to Disney, time spent together, or simply being there for them, his children were his pride and joy.

Bobby also cared deeply about the union and the brotherhood of the fire service, following in the footsteps of his father, who dedicated his own life to the profession before tragically losing his battle with occupational cancer years ago. We pray Bobby is now reunited with his dad and watching over his children, his family, and all of us still answering the call.

This loss is hitting hard. It reminds every firefighter and every family connected to this profession just how dangerous this job truly is. We all know the risks, but sometimes life changes in an instant and brings that reality crashing back home.

Please keep Bobby’s family, friends, fellow firefighters, and the members of Local 718 and the Professional Fire Fighters of Massachusetts in your prayers during this incredibly difficult time.

Rest easy, brother.
You served your city with honor and courage.
You will never be forgotten.

Ware Fire is sending our sincere condolences to the family of the Firefighter who lost his life yesterday and the families of the 11 injured in the tragic explosion in Maine yesterday morning. This is a stark reminder of the dangers and many hazards we have every day in the communities we serve. Tragedy can happen at a moments notice..

Update: Maine officials have released the name of our brother who lost his life. 27 year old Firefighter Andrew Cross of the Morrill volunteer Fire Department. May he rest in peace.

WFD is proud to announce we have been awarded $18,953.99 from the Firefighter Safety Equipment Grant Program! These funds will be vital for us to purchase much needed new equipment and to help us to maintain the equipment we already have. A special thank you to the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security and the Department of Fire Services for awarding WFD with these funds.
