The Ocean Township Police Department invites you to our FREE Car Seat Checkpoint on June 18th from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM at the Waretown Firehouse.

Our trained officers and child passenger safety technicians will inspect your child’s car seat, answer questions, and help ensure it is installed properly.

A few minutes can provide valuable peace of mind and help keep your child safe every time you hit the road.

Confidence is increasing in some severe thunderstorms moving through later today. The main threat is damaging wind gusts, with storms beginning to develop and move in after 2 PM. Make sure you have ways to receive any warnings! And when thunder roars, go indoors!

The Waretown Vol. Fire Co. has had a busy couple of days. We spent Saturday at the Ocean County Fire Academy, where we drilled on primary searches, hose advancement, suppression, and water can technique. Yesterday, we responded to three calls, including a structure fire in the Greenbriar Oceanaire section of town. The fire was extinguished, and no injuries were reported. The fire is under investigation. We appreciate the assistance of our mutual aid companies and the support of our first aid team while our firefighters worked.
