Yesterday our officers and dispatch staff hosted our second annual Supermarlet Sweet food drive at the Waretown Shoprite.

The annual food drive helps stock the shelves of the food banks located at the St. Stephen’s Church and the Waretown United Methodist Church so families in need can have access to meals throughout the school year.

Thank you to everyone who donated today and made this event a huge success!!

MISSING / RUNAWAY JUVENILE — PLEASE SHARE

The Ocean Township Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating 14-year-old Aiden Scatina, who was last seen at approximately 2:00 AM on August 22, 2026, in the area of Dock Road in Waretown, NJ.

Aiden is described as:

* 14-year-old white male
* Approximately 5’9” tall
* Approximately 200 pounds
* Fair complexion
* Bleach blonde hair

Last known clothing:

* Black pants
* Black hoodie
* Black and white sneakers

Aiden may be in the company of other individuals. His current direction of travel and the clothing of the other individuals are unknown.

If you have seen Aiden or have any information regarding his whereabouts, please contact the Ocean Township Police Department immediately at 609-693-4007.

Waretown First Aid is gearing up for their big event on 9/13/26 at the Ocean County Training Academy!

They will be hosting a First Responders Unity 5k and 1 mile walk!!!

Update: 925pm

There was a pole fire with wires down that impacted about 2,000 customers. Crews have reduced the number of customers affected by the outage down to about 288 until repairs are completed.

POWER OUTAGE – OCEAN TOWNSHIP

Ocean Township is currently experiencing power outages due to a downed utility wire in the area of Country Lane and U.S. Highway.

Emergency personnel are on scene and awaiting the arrival of the power company. At this time, there is no estimated time for power restoration.

Additional updates will be provided as information becomes available.

The Ocean Township Police Department is currently conducting a criminal investigation in the area of Bay Parkway and Barbara Court.

Residents may notice an increased law enforcement presence in the area while officers carry out their investigation.

At this time, there is no danger to the public.
