Ah, the wonders of a day spent in the bee yard, where magic and nature entwine in a dance of buzzing wings and sweet nectar!
🌿✨🐝
As the morning sun kissed the earth, I prepared for my enchanted journey, donning my shield-maiden suit—crafted not from mere fabric, but from the very threads of protection woven by ancient enchantresses. My little bee girls, precious guardians of the hive, would not sting me today, for I wore the suit of invincibility, a shimmering shield against their delicate but potent defense.
With a flourish, I summoned my broom—not for flight this time, but as my mystical Swiffer bee broom, a gentle tool for moving the buzzing beauties off the frames and lids with the lightest touch of magic. In my other hand, the hive tool—no ordinary implement, but a wand of ancient power—lifted and separated the frames as though the hive itself whispered secrets to me. Each movement was a spell, each touch a blessing.
The day would not be complete without the invocation of the bee keeper's smoking cauldron. This mystical vessel, filled with fragrant herbs and twigs, billowed puffs of enchanted smoke, subduing the bees with a soft lullaby of safety and peace. The little ones calmed under its influence, their desire to defend replaced with trust in the Witch of Waring.
But the yard was not without its darker denizens. A demonic red wasp 🦟, fiery and fierce, dared to challenge my dominion. With swift and precise kung-foo moves (and perhaps a little "enchanted language"), I obliterated the threat, its malevolent energy dissipating into the ether. Yet, it was the golden orb weaver 🕷, a magnificent guardian of her own domain, that posed the true test of the day. The size of my hand, she stood firm beneath the double-decker hive, fiercely protecting her precious egg sack.
She was not in the mood for witchy interaction, and I could feel her protective energy swirling around her...her many eyeballs searching for a vulnerable place to attack! With the gentlest flick of my sticky propolis covered wand (after another incantation of many loud "BLESSINGS") , I sent her soaring across the yard—no harm done, for I checked on her afterward. She was safely reunited with her egg sack, which I had relocated to a stately cedar tree. With a brush of my powers (and perhaps a hint of a victorious smile), I ensured mother and zillion babies would thrive in their new home.
A red and black wasp then dared to knock on my veil, perhaps seeking entry into the magical realm. But my smoking cauldron, ever vigilant, thwarted this audacious onslaught, sending the intruder back to where it came from.
In the midst of this magical mayhem, I pulled weeds—nature’s lesser magic—and checked for slithering snakes, their stealthy forms unseen but not unfelt. A few wax worms, aspiring to establish their own dominion, met their end beneath my relentless hand. And the satisfying "crunch" of smashing small hive beetles, those pesky invaders, was music to my ears.
The Amish Bees, oh yes, they are truly a marvel this year! Their honey will not grace my pantry this season, for I shall allow them to feast on their own labor through the winter. But next year, the sweet golden elixir shall be mine, and I will harvest the finest Witch of Waring Honey—each drop imbued with the magic of this enchanted day.
Combining two weaker hives, one queenless and forlorn, was a task of tender care, while also adding a second story to a hive nearly "honey bound" was an adventure in itself. Never before had I seen such abundance of nectar! The hive, now a towering fortress of honey and bees, stands as a testament to the magic we created together.
And so, as the sun began to burn off the clouds and sear my tender witchy skin through my protective suit, I signed off, sweaty, smokey, and giddy from the day’s adventures. For in that bee yard, amidst the hum of wings and the scent of nectar and beeswax, I found not just honey and beauty—but a piece of my own magical soul.

Until next time, may the bees be blessed, and may the Witch of Waring's honey flow as sweet as the magic in the air.
