The Warminster Fire Department (WFD) has been serving the residents of Warminster Township and the surrounding communities for almost 95 years. Approximately 50 active volunteer firefighters respond to more than 700 fire-safety emergencies each year. These incidents include building fires, vehicle rescues, alarm responses, and weather-related emergencies. The department maintains and operates 10 v

ehicles (2 Engines, 1 Quint, 1 Rescue Pumper, 2 Utility trucks, and 4 Command vehicles) from 3 fire stations in the township. On average, the WFD spends about 5,000 man-hours a year (all volunteer) providing on-scene fire protection services. Between alarms, members contribute an additional 10,000 volunteer hours each year participating in training, education, and community service activities.

🚒 24 HOURS OF STORM COVERAGE – TEAMWORK ACROSS WARMINSTER 🚑

During the recent winter storm, Warminster Fire Department volunteers staffed 2 stations for the duration of the storm to ensure swift response times and uninterrupted emergency services throughout the township.

With Central Bucks Emergency Medical Services experiencing high call volumes and difficult conditions, our members stepped in wherever we could to help. In addition to maintaining in-station coverage, crews assisted by shoveling walkways and access points, helping EMS personnel safely reach patients and continue care without unnecessary delays.

We’d also like to recognize the Bucks County 911 dispatchers, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes coordinating calls and resources throughout the storm, as well as our Warminster Township Police Department partners who helped keep roadways safe and accessible for emergency responders.

At each call, our crews also took time to clear snow from fire hydrants that had not yet been cleared. While we’re always happy to help, this is an important reminder for residents to please maintain a clear 3-foot radius around fire hydrants near your home or business. A visible, accessible hydrant allows firefighters to act immediately during an emergency, when seconds truly matter.

These actions help us help you in the event of a fire.

👏 Thank you to Central Bucks EMS, Bucks County 9-1-1, our police partners, and our dedicated volunteers for working together around the clock. This storm was a true team effort, and we’re proud to say we’re here to help.

Stay safe and stay warm, Warminster. ❄️🚒

Cold Weather Advisory

A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect for the entire area starting tonight through Wednesday morning. Expect bitter wind chills:

Tonight & Tomorrow Night: 0° to -10° for most areas

Wednesday Night – Friday Night: Even colder wind chills possible

Dress warmly, limit time outdoors, and check on vulnerable neighbors.

It's super cold, which means the snow we are seeing will stick around for a while, creating slippery conditions. Check out some of the reported snowfall in Bucks County.

❄️ ICE SAFETY REMINDER ❄️

With winter weather setting in, we want to remind everyone that ice is never guaranteed to be safe. Ice thickness can vary dramatically, especially in our town due to bubblers, moving water, runoff, and organic decay, even when it looks solid.

If you see a person, pet, or animal fall through the ice:

🚨 Immediately call 9-1-1

🚫 DO NOT go out onto the ice.
Entering the ice or water without proper training and equipment often creates additional victims and significantly increases the danger for everyone involved.

The safest actions for bystanders are:
• Reassure the person and encourage them to stay calm and hold on
• Reach a ladder, stick, or throw a rope or flotation device from shore if it can be done safely
• Keep eyes on the victim’s location and clearly direct responding fire and police units when they arrive

🧊 Warminster Fire Department, along with our neighboring agencies, regularly trains for ice rescue incidents using specialized equipment and techniques designed to keep both victims and rescuers safe.

👨‍👩‍👧 Parents: please take a moment to talk with your children about the dangers of ice-covered ponds, creeks, and retention basins. What may look frozen and safe can be dangerously weak. Children and pets are often drawn to ice without understanding the risk, these conversations can prevent tragedy.

The best help you can provide is to:
✔️ Call 9-1-1 quickly
✔️ Stay off the ice
✔️ Communicate clearly with responders

Please help us spread the word: ice conditions in our township are unpredictable and never 100% safe. Ice freezes from the top down, meaning the surface appearance is not a reliable indicator of what’s happening below. During training on local ponds, we’ve encountered ice ranging from over 6 inches thick to severely compromised areas that failed without warning - on the same pond, the same day. The right actions truly can save lives.

Stay safe,
🚒 Warminster Fire Department

🚨 WARMINSTER TOWNSHIP DISASTER EMERGENCY DECLARATION 🚨

Warminster Township has declared a Disaster Emergency in advance of the winter storm expected to impact our this evening. The emergency declaration will be in effect from area 6:00 PM Saturday, January 24, 2026, until 6:00 PM Tuesday, January 27, 2026

What does this mean?
A disaster declaration allows the Township to temporarily enforce emergency rules and ordinances that help protect residents, emergency responders, and critical services during severe weather. It also enables emergency management officials to coordinate resources and respond more efficiently if conditions worsen.

⏱ Effective Period:
🕕 6:00 PM Saturday, January 24, 2025
➡️ 6:00PM Tuesday, January 27, 2025
📜 Under this declaration, the following will be enforced:
• Ordinances 625 & 702 will be in effect
• All vehicles must be removed from public roadways during the emergency
• Clear snow from fire hydrants in front of your home to help emergency services
• Monitor weather updates for the latest forecast and conditions
• Snow plowing and salting operations will be ongoing throughout the storm as needed

These measures help keep roads clear for plows, fire apparatus, EMS, and police, especially during emergency responses.

❄️ IMPORTANT SAFETY REMINDERS ❄️

Clear Snow Away From Vents & Utilities
Heavy snowfall and drifting snow can block vents and create serious hazards. Please keep the following clear of snow and debris:
• Heater and furnace exhaust vents
• Dryer vents
• Natural gas meters
• Hot water heater vents
• Fireplace and stove vents

Blocked vents can cause carbon monoxide (CO) or other gases to back up into your home.

Prevent Carbon Monoxide Poisoning
• Never run a vehicle in a garage—even with doors open
• Make sure vehicle exhaust pipes are clear of snow
• Use generators outdoors only, away from doors, windows, and vents
• Never use grills, ovens, or stoves to heat your home
• Open the damper when using a fireplace
• Have heating equipment and chimneys inspected annually

🚒 Help Us Help You – Clear Fire Hydrants

During and after the storm, please take a few minutes to shovel and clear snow around fire hydrants near your home or business.

A clear hydrant allows firefighters to act immediately in an emergency. The less time spent digging out a hydrant, the faster we can help you or your neighbors when seconds truly matter.

Thank you for your cooperation as we work to keep Warminster safe during this storm. Please stay safe and plan accordingly.

Over the course of Friday’s significant wind event, our department responded to multiple weather related incidents across the township. Unfortunately, one of those calls resulted in a devastating residential fire that left a local family displaced.

First and foremost, our thoughts are with Bob and Becky Campman and their family, whose home was damaged in the fire. We are grateful to share that Bob, Becky, and their children are safe, though this is an especially difficult loss during the Christmas season.

We are sharing the following message from Lehman Church, which is coordinating support for the family. Please be aware that the family has advised they are not connected to several GoFundMe campaigns that have appeared following the fire. Those wishing to support the Campman family and avoid any potential scams are encouraged to follow the guidance outlined in the church’s post.

Please pray for Bob and Becky Campman and their family, who recently lost their home to a house fire. We are grateful to share that Bob, Becky and the children are safe. We ask that you be careful of a number of GoFundMe campaigns that have popped up in the aftermath of this tragedy as Bob tells us he does not know the people who started them. If you want to support the Campman family and avoid any potential scams, you can drop off gift cards or other donations in the church office.

Remember, Santa travels with 4 groups throughout town. In the Warminster section of town, there are no maps or schedules and our timing is dependent on calls throughout the day.

The best way is to listen for the sound of approaching sirens and horns, which will signify when we've reached your neighborhood!
