This month, we are proud to recognize Jake Cox for his dedication, willingness to help, and commitment to going above and beyond each day in service to Houston County. While Jake’s official title is Community Planner, his contributions reach far beyond that role. To name a few, Jake also serves as : Grant Administrator, United Way Coordinator, Code Enforcement Laison with Sheriff’s Office, Constituent Services Coordinator and Public Information Officer. In fact, citizens who call the office with questions or concerns often jokingly refer to him as “Commissioner Jake” because he is so willing to help find solutions.
Jake also keeps a close eye on blight throughout the county and takes on countless other responsibilities that help keep the Commissioner’s Office running smoothly. No matter what the task may be, one thing is certain: Jake’s first response is often, “How can I help?”
Those who know Jake describe him as a true gentleman who is always willing to help others, both at work and in his personal life. He is also eager to learn new things, especially when gaining that knowledge can make him better at serving his community.
Outside of work, Jake and his wife, Carla, are proud parents of two sons and are very active in their church.
We are very fortunate to have Jake Cox as a member of the Commissioner’s Office team, and we are proud to recognize him this month for all that he does for Houston County.
