🔥 Structure Fire 🔥

At approximately 3:30 p.m. today, the Warren City Fire Department was dispatched to the 1400 block of N Park Ave for a possible attic fire. Car 12, Truck 1, Rescue 1, Engine 5 and Engine 6 responded.

Engine 5 arrived on scene and reported nothing showing. Upon entering the structure, the Engine 5 crew located a small fire in the attic using a thermal imaging camera (TIC).

The Engine 5 crew immediately pulled a hose line and quickly opened the ceiling to extinguish the fire while limiting damage to the structure.

The fire was quickly extinguished and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is believed to be electrical.

🔥 Structure Fire 🔥

At approximately 10:12 p.m. last night, the Warren City Fire Department was dispatched to the 500 block of Kenilworth Ave. SE for a reported structure fire. Car 12, Truck 1, Rescue 1, Engine 5 and Engine 6 responded.

Downtown and Engine 5 arrived on scene and reported a fully involved detached garage. The Engine 5 crew immediately pulled a hose line and worked to extinguish the fire while protecting exposures.

The fire was quickly brought under control and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Ohio State Fire Marshal’s Office.

Today at the 55th Biennial Conference of the Ohio Association of Professional Fire Fighters, Brother Jeff Younkins was bestowed the prestigious title of Trustee Emeritus in recognition of his decades of dedication, leadership, and service to professional firefighters across Ohio.

Brother Younkins has devoted more than 30 years to the fire service and organized labor, serving both the Warren Professional Fire Fighters IAFF Local 204 and Champion Township Firefighters IAFF Local 2948 in numerous leadership roles including Trustee, Vice President, and President. He also served as a founding member of the statewide legislative committee and as Trustee of the OAPFF from 2012 until his retirement in 2022.

Even after retirement from elected office, Jeff continued advocating for firefighters throughout Ohio and assisting locals with legislative and financial matters.

We are proud to call Jeff one of our own and congratulate him on this well-deserved honor. Thank you, Brother Younkins, for your unwavering commitment to this union and the members you have served throughout your career.

🔥 Structure Fire 🔥

At approximately 10:05 p.m., the Warren City Fire Department was dispatched to the 300 block of Tod Ave. SW for a reported smoke investigation. Engine 6 arrived on scene and reported a working structure fire. Car 12, Truck 1, Rescue 1, and Engine 5 then responded.

Engine 6’s crew encountered a two-story residence with fire in both the basement and attic.

Crews quickly initiated an aggressive interior attack, encountering fire on each floor of the home as well as in void spaces. At 10:45 p.m., a second alarm was struck to bring additional firefighters to the scene.

All occupants were confirmed to be out of the residence prior to crews’ arrival, and no victims were located during the incident. Firefighters remained on scene for approximately 3½ hours conducting overhaul operations and ensuring all hot spots were extinguished.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Ohio State Fire Marshal’s Office.
