Warren County Children's Advocacy Center

Warren County Children's Advocacy Center The Warren County CAC is committed to trauma reduction for child victims of sexual and physical abuse throughout Warren County.

We provide a safe, neutral space for children and their families to begin their journeys of hope, help and healing. The Warren County Children's Advocacy Center is a standalone 501(c)(3) non-profit agency committed to providing a safe and supportive environment that is dedicated to serving child victims of abuse and their families. Professionals from multiple disciplines within the community coord

inate investigations, interventions, prosecutions, and provide specialized treatment while reducing trauma and promoting healing. Children and their non-offending family members are welcomed to the Warren County CAC, which is a child-focused and -centered space. The Warren County CAC is an open and affirming safe space, where all children and non-offending family members are welcome regardless of any number of limiting factors including gender, race and religion. While at the CAC, our families and their stories are treated with respect and dignity. Together, with our community partners, the Warren County CAC believes:

- Children come first. They are the experts on their lives and their experiences. They matter.

- Protecting children in our community "takes a village." We rely on our community partners, and each other, to provide trauma-informed collaboration and care to all our children and their non-offending caregivers.

- While the Warren County CAC helps to coordinate child abuse investigations, we strive to remain a neutral party, focused on the well-being of the child.

- Prevention starts with awareness and education. It will take all of us to turn the tide in our community.

🐾 Tiger's Tales (Summer) Paw-tection Pointer #3:

One of the most important safety skills children can learn is identifying trusted adults.

Help children think about:
• who they can talk to when something feels wrong
• safe adults at home, school, activities, and in the community
• how to keep asking for help if the first person doesn’t listen

Children deserve to know they never have to carry hard things alone.

Tiger’s reminder: safe packs protect each other. 🐶

🐾 Tiger's Tales (Summer) Paw-tection Pointer #2:

Teaching body safety can start with simple everyday moments.

Children should know:
• they do not have to give hugs or physical affection
• they are allowed to say “no” to unwanted touch
• their feelings about their body matter

When safe adults respect boundaries, children learn that their voice has value.

Body safety education is about empowerment — not fear. 💙

Tiger fully supports high-fives as an acceptable alternative. 🐶

Children deserve safety, support, and the chance to heal. 💛

Last year, 12,849 Pennsylvania children visited a Children’s Advocacy Center due to suspected abuse (73% for alleged sexual abuse). Awareness and prevention start at home and in our communities.

PennCAC is sharing printable posters on body and online safety to help families recognize red flags and empower children to speak up before abuse happens. These resources are free, come in three languages, and are easy to use.

For many, Memorial Day is the unofficial start to summer, even though it’s still a ways off. ☀️

Today we’re kicking off a new summer series from the Warren County Children’s Advocacy Center: 🐾 Tiger's Tales (Summer) Paw-tection Pointers

Throughout the summer, we’ll be sharing short, practical tips to help children and families build safer, healthier summers together.

We’ll be talking about:
• body safety
• healthy boundaries
• trusted adults
• online safety
• sleepovers & camps
• empowerment & communication

Because protecting children doesn’t happen through fear — it happens through connection, education, and community.

Tiger is ready for summer safety season. 🐶

National Missing Children’s Day is a reminder to keep kids and teens safe both in our communities and online. You can help by understanding the threats they face online, teaching them the risks and how to be vigilant.

In several recent cases, children have been abducted or nearly abducted after attempting to meet “online friends” in person. That’s why it’s so important to talk with kids and teens about digital stranger danger: People online may not be who they claim to be.

The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children is a global leader in the fight against child victimization.

NCMEC offers free prevention resources and guidance for parents, guardians and communities about how to find an attorney, tips for removing unwanted online content and how to find mental health professionals.
