Bridges Adult Day Service is a daytime program that provides a variety of services and activities for adults who are socially isolated, chronically ill, have a physical disability, or cognitive impairment. Everyone wants to age in the comfort of their own home, though sometimes a little extra help is necessary to ensure quality in independent living. If you or a loved one would benefit from assist
ance, or even companionship, during daytime hours, Bridges Adult Day Service is ready and waiting to help. Bridges Adult Day Service is a daytime program that provides a variety of services and activities for adults who are socially isolated, chronically ill, have a physical disability, or cognitive impairment including Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia. Bridges promotes independence and companionship, and allows individuals to remain in their own home for as long as possible. Bridges also offers the families and friends of these individuals a break from caregiving responsibilities, and - more importantly - the peace of mind that comes from knowing that their loved one is in a safe environment during the day. At Bridges, we strive for participation and socialization, so we plan our days with each individual in mind. We offer a variety of activities to suit all tastes, including cards, Bingo and other games, exercise, dance, arts and crafts, cooking and baking, music and other live entertainment, educational programs and trips, and involvement in community activities and events. To ensure the health of our clients, Bridges has an on-site registered nurse and licensed practical nurse that provide quarterly health reviews, vital sign and weight monitoring, health coordination and education, medication administration, as well as other services. Additionally, we also employ an activity coordinator and program assistants. Our program assistants are skilled in personal care and are able to help our clients with activities of daily living while they are at Bridges. These activities of daily living include bathing, dressing, toileting, personal hygiene, assistance with walking and transfers, and eating. Bridges Adult Day Service is a cost-effective alternative to other long-term care options. We charge a fixed daily rate for all services provided. While long-term care insurance and private payment are accepted, funding is available for many clients through the Aging Waiver, the Independence Waiver and the VA Waiver programs. Bridges is open Monday through Friday, from
7am until 6pm Individuals may attend on a planned basis, ranging from one to five days per week. At this time, we also offer attendance on a casual basis. All schedules are based on participant and family needs. Prior to admission, participants must have a physical from their physician and TB (tuberculin)screening test. Call Bridges Adult Day Service at 814-726-1116 for more information, and to schedule a tour of our facility. The staff will be happy to arrange an assessment and tour! We hope to hear from you soon!
