We hosted a send off for our outgoing executive officer, MAJ (P) Janet Williams, this week to recognize her for her tour as XO, and to wish her well in her new assignment. During the taco bar lunch held in her honor, she was presented the Meritorious Service Medal. She now heads to the Army’s Global Tactical Edge Acquisition Directorate (G-TEAD,) the acquisition hub created to close the critical gap between the pace of modern threats and the speed of capability delivery. Well done, MAJ Williams, and all the best in your next assignment!

Congrats to our PdM Petroleum and Water Systems team, part of , for just completing First Unit Equipped and New Equipment Training activities last week at U.S. Army Combined Arms Support Command, U.S. Army Fort Lee for the Petroleum Expeditionary Analysis Kit, or PEAK.

First Unit Equipped is a critical milestone that marks the first scheduled date a new materiel system is handed over to a designated unit, alongside the completion of NET. FUE is the point at which a military unit achieves the baseline capability to operate, maintain, and employ the new technology in its designated mission.

PEAK replaces decades-old fuel quality surveillance equipment and will expeditiously provide test results at the point of need. The PEAK provides Soldiers the ability to measure the quality of fuel we put into our ground vehicles and support equipment and aviation assets. PEAK ensures Soldiers can safely execute missions.

A Soldier assigned to the 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) places an American flag at a headstone during Flags In at Arlington National Cemetery, May 21, 2026. Flags In has been conducted annually since 1948, when The Old Guard was designated as the U.S. Army’s official ceremonial unit, and Soldiers place more than 260,000 American flags throughout the cemetery ahead of Memorial Day weekend. Each flag is positioned one boot length from the base of a headstone or columbarium niche to maintain uniformity and honor the fallen with precision. (U.S. Army photo by Staff Sgt. Malik Retemiah)
