This school was the single most traumatic life experience I’ve had even at the age of 12. The principal, guidance counselor, students and bible teachers are what led to the deep hate I have for myself and my sexuality. Schools like this HAVE to stop. Being the only black child in my class for 3 years and wanting to kill myself at 12 because of a bunch of ignorant white conservative adults/kids telling me how “sick” i was is what ultimately led to all the overwhelming mental health issues I have today that I can’t receive help for. I was fine after leaving but up until about a year ago it’s been a daily uphill losing battle and one day my blood may be on this school and my churches hands.
