To the residents of Champion Township,

On behalf of the entire Champion Fire Department, I want to extend our sincere gratitude for your support in the recent passage of the fire levy.

Your vote represents more than just funding, it is a clear statement that you value the safety, reliability, and future of emergency services in our community. This support allows us to take meaningful steps forward in strengthening our department, including increasing staffing levels, maintaining and replacing essential equipment, and addressing critical operational and facility needs.

As call volumes continue to rise, the demands placed on our firefighters and paramedics grow as well. This levy ensures that we can meet those demands with the level of professionalism, efficiency, and care that you expect and deserve. It directly impacts our ability to respond quickly, provide advanced medical care, and maintain a constant state of readiness.

We recognize that this investment comes from you the residents, and we take that responsibility seriously. We remain committed to being good stewards of these funds and to delivering the highest level of service to our community.

Thank you for your trust, your support, and your continued partnership in keeping Champion Township safe.

I would also like to personally thank the Besse and Shwab family for your dedication and commitment to our mission by providing support at the polls today. Thank you!

Sincerely,
Thomas Dempsey, Fire Chief

**Structure Fire**
At approximately 1:53 a.m., the Champion Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 6000 block of Mahoning Avenue. Upon arrival, Tanker 21 reported a working structure fire with heavy flames from the front of the house.

All occupants were confirmed to be out of the residence prior to arrival. Firefighters remained on scene for approximately 3 1/2 hours conducting overhaul operations.

No civilian or firefighter injuries were reported. Unfortunately, two rabbits and two cats did not survive.

The cause of the fire has been determined as accidental.

Units assigned: Tanker 21, Chief 21, Engine 17, Chief 17, Engine 22, Ladder 11, Engine 45, and Chief 45.
