Do you have items waiting to be dropped off? Now’s the time! ♻️ This Saturday is your last chance to visit our Geauga Collection Facility during Saturday hours in 2026. Stop by with your electronics, appliances, household hazardous waste, and foam for proper disposal through our quick and easy drive-thru.

The Geauga Collection Facility will continue to be open every Friday from 10am-3pm all winter long (except for holidays)!

We spy with our little eye…a whole lot of things that don’t belong 👀🫣♻️ Can you spot at least 6 things that DON’T belong in our recycling bins? Consider this a learning opportunity!

✅ RE-CO’s Big 5: Bottles, cans, jugs, jars, and cardboard/paper.
❌ Not accepted: Plastic bags, Styrofoam, cartons, shredded paper, fruit containers, and plastic packaging.

Be mindful of what goes in the recycling bin and remember RE-CO’s Big 5. When in doubt, leave it out!

We need your opinion! Complete the online survey for your county!

Right now, curbside recycling (where a recycling truck comes to your house and picks up your recycling like your weekly trash) is limited in most parts of Geauga and Trumbull Counties. We'd like to change that. Help us determine if you and your neighbors would be interested in this great service!

Pumpkin season is here! Here are a few things to keep in mind:

♻️ Choose natural methods, like vinegar, instead of bleach or harsh chemicals to preserve your pumpkins.
♻️ Give your pumpkin a second chance by turning it into compost, a bird feeder or a natural planter.
♻️ Check with your local farms and rescues to see if they accept pumpkins for animal snacks or enrichment.
♻️ If you’re decorating pumpkins, avoid paints that can’t be washed off.
♻️ And one very important rule: Pumpkins do NOT belong in the recycling bin!

Keep your pumpkins out of the recycling bin and give them a second life! 🎃

Before you toss it in the recycling bin, check its shape! For bottles, jugs and jars, look for a “NECK” - the area that narrows near the lid. If it has one, it can be recycled in our drop-off recycling bins. If it doesn’t, leave it out. That means that plastic tubs like sour cream, butter, cottage cheese and yogurt are not accepted.
