Formerly located at 200 Loveless St NW, Warren, Ohio, Warren Western Reserve High School was built in 1966, held its first graduation ceremony in the Fall of 1967, and it's last in the Spring of 1990.

Mrs McNair served Warren City Schools as the Librarian for Warren Western Reserve High School and McGuffey Elementary School in Warren, Ohio.

Anita Kay Smith-McNair, 88, of Warren, OH, departed this life Monday, May 18, 2026 at 5:30 p.m.

She was born August 7, 1937 in Warren, OH, the daughter of Cyrus Seabrooks and Verna Lucille Smith, having resided in Youngstown for 17 years.

Anita was employed with the Warren City Board of Education for 29 years, before retiring March 2016. She also worked as a Librarian for Warren Western Reserve High School and McGuffey Elementary School. She graduated in 1955 from Warren G. Harding High School, from Kent State University with a B.S. Degree in Criminal Justice and from Trumbull Business College with a Business Degree.

She was a member of the Elim Worship Center, where she served as the Mother of the Church, was over the Nurses Guild and Usher Board. She enjoyed baking, sewing, cooking, crossword puzzles, crocheting and sewing. She leaves to mourn one son, Walter (Tina) McNair of Newnan, GA; one daughter, Ms. Cynthia McNair of Hubbard; one brother, Hillary Deval Taylor Jr.; three grandchildren, Walter McNair Jr. and Isaiah McNair both of Newnan, GA and Miss. Zion Hunter of Hubbard and a host of relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Tony McDaniel and two sisters, Ms. Cynthia McDaniel and Mrs. Joyce Brundidge.

Memorial Services will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Elim Worship Center.

Arrangements of comfort were handled by the Sterling-McCullough Williams Funeral Home.

All Warren G Harding Panthers and Warren Western Reserve Raiders alumni are welcome to stop by the WWR Raider Tent at the Warren Italian-American Heritage Festival. You're welcome to hang out as long as you like so you can visit with fellow alumni and teachers. There will be plenty of photo-ops to share with friends and former classmates. It's a great way to meet up with friends and former classmates, all while enjoying the food and fun of the festival.
