Senior parents and families, how are you feeling? With the seniors' last week of school, prom season over, and graduation very quickly approaching, it can be a LOT. Instead of being sad about the end of this era, we want you to focus on the positives. Be proud of the independence your children have gained, all they have learned, and where their futures are taking them. They're all smiles and you can be, too. We can't wait to see you at Graduation on Monday, June 1st at the Macomb Community College Center for the Performing Arts. Enjoy this time!

Yesterday, many of our Lincoln High School students were invited to attend the first annual Mayor's Youth Leadership Council. The Council had a day of sharing and learning leadership skills together. Warren youth are going to change the world!

Tuesday evening, our 2025-2026 Teachers of the Year were honored at a County-Wide Celebration. These professionals were nominated by their peers and further recognized by their students within the district earlier this winter. Congratulations to Elena Petrilli of Carlson Elementary and Cynthia Mitchell of Lincoln Middle School (pictured with their principals Heather Graef and Gabrielle Avila as well as our Board President Ivan Thomas), and to John McCabe of Lincoln High School. What a wonderful representation of our talented staff in Van D**e Public Schools!

When it comes to groovin', our Carlson students really have the music in them! Dr. Hause and her fifth graders have been working at their guitar skills with the Lead Guitar program through Wayne State University. Exciting things are always happening in Dental Assisting. Yesterday, Dr. Anya Harris (DDS & Dental Director in blue scrubs) and Nina Abubakari (CEO in peach suit) from Advantage Health visited our students. They got to hear from our students what we do in dental assisting, and are excited to partner to have our students job shadow, co-op, and begin their career in dentistry there. A special thanks to Mr. & Mrs. Harris for making this connection for us! 🙂
