Trumbull County Sheriff's Office Welcome to our page. This forum is for community engagement with the Sheriff's Office. Our county is located in the Northeastern part of the state.

We would like to welcome you to our Official page, which is designed to help you learn about and interact with our office. We strive to be the most innovative Sheriff's office in the State of Ohio. It is situated roughly between the Youngstown, Cleveland and Akron corridors. It was established on July 10, 1800, serving as the seventh county in the northwest territory. It is named after Jo

nathan Trumbull, Governor of Connecticut, who once owned the land in this region. The county has a total area of 635 square miles. It is the only square county in the entire State of Ohio with each side being approximately 25 miles. Trumbull County consists of seven cities: Cortland, Girard, Hubbard, Newton Falls, Niles, Warren, Youngstown and five villages: Lordstown, McDonald, Orangeville, West Farmington, and Yankee Lake. The City of Warren is the county seat and we are home to Mosquito Lake State Park, National Packard Museum, McKinley Memorial, Amish Community and the Mahoning Valley Scrappers Baseball Team. We serve approximately 225,000 people.

Last week, several deputies from the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office participated in a multi-agency OVI checkpoint conducted in the Township of Vienna. The operation was carried out in coordination with partnering law enforcement agencies to enhance roadway safety, deter impaired driving, and ensure compliance with state traffic and criminal laws.

Throughout the course of the checkpoint, deputies and assisting officers made multiple arrests and identified several violations. These included charges related to improper handling of fi****ms in a motor vehicle, the discovery and seizure of over 20 grams of suspected co***ne, and the apprehension of individuals with active outstanding warrants. 🚨 SCAM ALERT 🚨

We’re sharing a warning from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office about a scam circulating in Ohio, and we’ve received reports of similar messages in our area. Residents are getting text messages claiming to be a “Final Notice – Court Enforcement Action” for an alleged traffic violation tied to their vehicle.

These messages may appear to come from a court and often include a QR code. This is a SCAM. Do NOT scan the QR code or click any links.

SCAM ALERT!

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office wants to warn you about this scam that is popping up around Central Ohio. We have received several reports of people receiving a Traffic Violation Notice, claiming to be from the Municipal Court of the County of Franklin. It says it’s a Final Notice – Court Enforcement Action for an “outstanding traffic violation involving your registered vehicle with the State of Ohio.”

This is a SCAM. Do NOT scan the QR code.

We want to take a moment to remind you that any requests for payments for toll fees, parking violations, or speeding violations that are made via email or text message are a scam. Never click on a link or scan a QR code from an unknown source. If you are ever wondering about the legitimacy of a legal summons, contact the agency at a number you find yourself on their website. And please report any scams to your local law enforcement agency.
