Trumbull County Sheriff's Office Welcome to our page. This forum is for community engagement with the Sheriff's Office. Our county is located in the Northeastern part of the state.

We would like to welcome you to our Official page, which is designed to help you learn about and interact with our office. We strive to be the most innovative Sheriff's office in the State of Ohio. It is situated roughly between the Youngstown, Cleveland and Akron corridors. It was established on July 10, 1800, serving as the seventh county in the northwest territory. It is named after Jonathan Trumbull, Governor of Connecticut, who once owned the land in this region. The county has a total area of 635 square miles. It is the only square county in the entire State of Ohio with each side being approximately 25 miles. Trumbull County consists of seven cities: Cortland, Girard, Hubbard, Newton Falls, Niles, Warren, Youngstown and five villages: Lordstown, McDonald, Orangeville, West Farmington, and Yankee Lake. The City of Warren is the county seat and we are home to Mosquito Lake State Park, National Packard Museum, McKinley Memorial, Amish Community and the Mahoning Valley Scrappers Baseball Team. We serve approximately 225,000 people.

***SEARCH WARRANT PRESS RELEASE***

On October 7, 2026, the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office TAG Drug Task Force, Mahoning Valley Law Enforcement Drug Task Force, and the Bureau of Alcohol, To***co, Fi****ms and Explosives (ATF) served a search warrant in the 300 block of Euclid Avenue Youngstown, Ohio. Investigators received information that the suspect was trafficking narcotics in the Warren and Youngstown, Ohio area. A lengthy drug trafficking investigation was conducted, which led to the suspect being located at a residence in Youngstown, Ohio. As a result of the search warrant, investigators seized approximately 123 grams of suspected methamphetamine, Xanax pills, 182 grams of suspected fentanyl, 38 grams of suspected crack co***ne, 2,722 grams of THC infused candy, psilocybin mushrooms, 4 loaded pistols, am******on, pill press, bullet proof vest, drug paraphernalia, one vehicle, and approximately $3,000.00 in U.S. currency.

***SEARCH WARRANT PRESS RELEASE***

On October 2, 2026, the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office TAG Drug Task Force executed a search warrant in the 1700 block of Elm Road Warren, Ohio. The search warrant was obtained after a drug trafficking investigation into the residence. As a result of the search warrant, investigators seized approximately 78 grams of suspected co***ne, approximately 160 grams of suspected fentanyl, approximately 32 grams of suspected crack co***ne, drug paraphernalia, a handheld drug press, am******on, and approximately $1,300.00 in U.S. currency. We would like to thank the citizens of Trumbull County for their continued support as we work to make our communities a safer place.

The TAG Drug Task Force was assisted by the Warren City Police Department Street Crimes Unit and the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

SCAM WARNING – PLEASE SHARE

The Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office is again warning the public about scam callers impersonating members of the Sheriff’s Office.

The most recent scam involves callers targeting individuals who have loved ones incarcerated in the Trumbull County Jail. Callers are reportedly claiming that the incarcerated individual can be enrolled in a program, sometimes referred to as a “Helping Hands” program, by paying a fee. The callers may falsely suggest that payment can result in charges being reduced, arrests being cleared, or records being expunged.

This is a scam.

The Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office does not call individuals demanding payment to enroll an inmate in a program, remove an arrest, reduce charges, or have criminal records expunged.

Scammers may use official names, titles, phone numbers, or other information to make their calls sound legitimate. Do not provide payment, personal information, banking information, or gift card numbers to these callers.

If you receive a suspicious call claiming to be from the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office, hang up and contact our office directly at 330-675-2508 to verify the information.

Drive-way black top/sealing scam

The Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a series of incidents involving individuals soliciting county residents for driveway blacktop and sealing work.

Some residents have reported that these individuals approached them offering to perform blacktop work on their driveways and then return later to complete the sealing. In some cases, the individuals reportedly did not return to complete the work.

The reported incidents involve individuals who are allegedly driving a full-size Dodge Ram or Ford F-150 pick up trucks with South Carolina license plates.

Residents are encouraged to use caution when approached by individuals offering driveway services and to verify the company and its credentials before agreeing to any work or making payment.

The Trumbull County Sheriff's Office would like to make the public aware of a scam that has recently been reported to the Trumbull County Jail.

The jail received multiple phone calls from concerned citizens reporting that individuals claiming to be members of the Trumbull County Sheriff's Office were contacting family members and friends of people who are currently or were recently incarcerated.

The Trumbull County Sheriff's Office will never call family members or friends and request money over the phone for an inmate's release. Likewise, the Sheriff's Office will never demand payment over the phone for warrants, missed jury duty, fines, court costs, or any other legal matter.

Residents are reminded not to provide money, banking information, credit card numbers, gift card information, Social Security numbers, or any other personal information to unsolicited callers.

Trumbull County Sheriff Mike Wilson was proud to host our Kids & Cops Camp Out, August 14–16, at Mosquito Lake Campground! 🏕️

Throughout the weekend, local youth had the opportunity to spend time with law enforcement officers while enjoying a variety of outdoor activities and making memories together. The kids tried their hand at fishing, kayaking, archery, and an obstacle course, along with plenty of time to enjoy the outdoors, have fun, and get to know the officers who serve their communities.

We are incredibly grateful to the law enforcement departments and officers who volunteered their time, along with the TORCH Conference, Community Connection, and our valued community partners who helped make this event possible. The dedication and support from everyone involved helped create a fun and meaningful experience for the kids.

More than just a weekend of activities, the Kids & Cops Camp Out provided an opportunity for youth and law enforcement to connect in a relaxed and positive environment. We hope the friendships and conversations shared throughout the weekend helped build greater understanding, mutual respect, and trust that will continue long after camp ended.

Recognizing Valor and Teamwork

On August 4, 2026, TCJ staff responded to a serious emergency involving an inmate in the general population who had attempted su***de. What followed was a coordinated response from multiple staff members who immediately stepped in to provide assistance and support during a critical situation.

Correction Officers Palmer and Thomas, along with Custodian Bornemiss, immediately stepped in and took action. Officer Stout-Zakrajsek and Medical Assistant Singleton began providing first aid until EMS arrived. Their actions, along with the efforts of the staff around them, helped bring a frightening situation under control.

For their response, Correction Officers Palmer, Thomas, and Stout-Zakrajsek, Medical Assistant Singleton, and Custodian Bornemiss were presented with Letters of Commendation for Valor.

This response was truly a team effort. Several additional staff members responded and assisted throughout the incident. While they are not individually named in this recognition, their contributions were an important part of the overall response and did not go unnoticed.

We want to extend our sincere appreciation to all of our officers and staff who responded and assisted. Their willingness to step forward, work together, and carry out their responsibilities during a challenging situation reflects the dedication and professionalism of the Trumbull County Sheriff's Office.

Please help us to congratulate Sergeant Todd Harvey as for being selected as the Jail Employee of the Month for July 2026. Sergeant Harvey has served with the Sheriff’s Office since August 2006 and is recognized for his experience, leadership, communication skills, and willingness to share his knowledge with others. He has also taken on added responsibilities when needed and has demonstrated sound judgment in resolving troublesome situations. We congratulate Sergeant Harvey and thank him for his continued dedication and service to the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office.
