Old Drum Open Mic coming up June 4! Join them!

Old Drum Open Mic - Call for Submissions – June 4, 2026 (Thursday) 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

This is the open call for writers, composers, storytellers, memoirists, playwrights, singer/songwriters, and comedians to enroll for a performance slot in the upcoming Old Drum Open Mic. The program will take place in downtown Warrensburg at Java Junction (118 N Holden Street), from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2026.

Poems, stories, comic sketches, memoirs, and songs are usually represented in the monthly program, but play scripts and original music are also welcome. Performance slots are up to 15 minutes, but most performers require only a fraction of that time, allowing more people to participate.

You can pre-schedule your appearance by sending a personal message (PM) through this page. Please supply your name(s) and the title(s) of the pieces you would like to present.

Old Drum Open Mic is held on the first Thursday of each month in Warrensburg. The series is in its tenth year of providing an outlet for the presentation of original works and performances, and ODOM programs are free and open to the public.

📣 We're thrilled to announce the recipients of this year's Community Arts Grants! This grant program is made possible by the City of Warrensburg Government's support for the Arts Commission and from donors who attend Arts Commission events. 📣

🎧 Retrograde Charitable Toy and Videogame Museum received a $1,500 grant to support their purchase of a 38-channel digital mixer. They are currently developing a recording studio within their facility in order to offer education programs, internships, and real-world experience for young people interested in music production. The WAC grant will enable Retrograde to purchase a professional mixing board that is needed to host live musical events and to provide interns with industry-standard equipment.🎤

🎷 Warrensburg Community Band received a $2,000 grant to purchase patriotic music for the 250th anniversary of the United States. Their summer series, beginning on Sunday, June 14, will feature many patriotic selections. The WAC grant will enable the Community Band to purchase music by American composers, newer patriotic works, and pieces composed specifically for USA 250. Their performances will inspire Warrensburg citizens as they celebrate this important anniversary. 🎷
