We were excited today to introduce our VR system to our cadets. We will be able to integrate the system into so many of our hands on learning opportunities for cadets. It enables them to have real life experiences while still being in the classroom. We are able to make the people in the scenarios do what we want while also speaking to the cadets as the actors in the scenario. The cadets loved their first experience.

Today, the Clinton Police Department honors and remembers Officer Gary Michael on the anniversary of his End of Watch, August 6, 2017.

Though the years have passed, his service, sacrifice, and dedication to our community will never be forgotten. His legacy continues to live on in those who wear the badge and in the community he faithfully served.

Virtual reality is transforming police training. From improving de-escalation skills to creating realistic, repeatable scenarios, agencies are using VR offers agencies a new way to prepare officers for complex encounters while maximizing resources.

UPDATE: We've already received over 150 applications for the Missouri Blue Scholarship in the first two weeks since funding became available again on July 1, 2026!

The start of the new State of Missouri fiscal year on July 1, 2026, means the Missouri Department of Public Safety is once again taking applications for the Missouri Blue Scholarship.
The Blue Scholarship provides up to $5,000 for recruits to attend Missouri law enforcement academies. The application process is fast and funds are transferred expeditiously!
