First unit arrived on scene at 1:08 PM and the fire was under control at approximately 1:36 PM. There were no injuries reported. Crews cleared the scene at 3:45 PM. Great work today in tough conditions and thank you to all of our community partners that assisted on scene!

Keeping Our Firefighters Healthy

Last week, 22 Warrensburg firefighters received skin cancer screenings thanks to a partnership between the Warrensburg Fire Department and U.S. Dermatology Partners – Warrensburg. The exams were generously provided at no cost by Amanda Caldwell, FNP-C and her team, who volunteered their time to support firefighter health.

Firefighters face significantly higher cancer risks than the general public—including elevated rates of melanoma and other skin cancers—making early detection critically important. We’re grateful to U.S. Dermatology Partners for helping us take proactive steps to protect those who protect our community every day.
Thank you, Amanda, for your support and commitment to our firefighters.

A few members of Local 3923 had the honor of reuniting with Alex at the 360 Trauma Critical Care Symposium in Kansas City.

This experience was a powerful reflection of how, even in tragedy, moments of hope and healing can emerge, reminding us of the lives behind every call and the purpose that drives us forward.

The lone survivor of a horrible crash that killed several of her family members reunited with some of the people who helped save her life Friday.

Today, two members of Local 3923 attended the annual ceremony at the Fire Fighter Memorial Foundation of Missouri in Kingdom City, Mo to honor the firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice this year — including Captain Vernon Collett of the JCFPD. We will never forget their service, their courage, or the legacy they leave behind.

Great work everyone!

At 4:23 a.m. Saturday, Warrensburg firefighters responded to the 1500 block of Park Place for a structure fire. Crews arrived within minutes to find flames on the back of a four-unit apartment building that had spread into the attic.

Firefighters quickly went inside, contained the fire, and brought it under control by 4:59 a.m. Crews stayed on scene until 7:59 a.m. to fully extinguish hot spots and assist investigators.

All residents escaped safely and no injuries were reported. One apartment sustained heavy damage, while three others had smoke and water damage. Thanks to modern fire codes and a fire wall in the attic, the blaze was stopped from spreading further.

The Missouri Division of Fire Safety is investigating the cause.

Assisting agencies included the Johnson County Fire Protection District, Johnson County Ambulance District, Warrensburg Police Department, and Johnson County, Missouri E-911.
