Our pledge is to become the most reliable source of weather information for Dixon, Including the local portions of central Missouri along with tracking, confirming and documenting weather related events that occur in central Missouri. The Dixon Weather Service serves as a device so that you, the area resident and other interested parties, may receive the local weather forecast along with any watch

es and/or warnings that are issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) - We are also a SKYWARN agency and encourage persons to report severe weather to us so we may in turn relay the reports to the National Weather Service (NWS) We chase storms and perform documentation of weather related events that occur within 50 miles of Dixon. We offer a local area phone number should you wish to have an updated forecast or wish to report severe weather or weather related damage at any time. The number to call is: 660-641-3255. This line is open 24/7 for a weather update or to report severe weather. All calls into our office are answered in the order received and can be monitored and recorded for quality assurance, training and verification purposes.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect for Bourbon, Cherokee & Crawford Counties In Kansas and Barton, St. Clair & Vernon Counties in Missouri until 9:00 PM CDT this evening.

Needless to say, these Counties are well off to our NW, but we'll need to keep an eye on storms as they move over the areas this evening and tonight.
