All genders,races, and sexualities are welcome and all of our services are free and confidential. was formed in 1982 by a group of concerned citizens in Johnson County. Initially, emergency shelter and a crisis hotline were the only services provided, and only for "battered women". It became quickly apparent that more services were needed, and our services now include: a crisis hotline, emergency
shelter, referrals, case management, court advocacy, therapy, peer support groups, and more. Survival House continues to expand its services to both resident and non-resident survivors in Johnson and Henry counties. In addition to providing shelter to survivors of all genders and sexualities, it is Survival's goal to educate survivors, as well as the community, on the nature and dynamics of domestic and sexual abuse in the hopes of bringing it to an end.
