Weather permitting, a short-term closure is scheduled to begin as early as the week of August 24, on Missouri Route 47 near Hawk Point to replace the crossroad box culvert. The roadway will close for up to six days, between Lincoln Trail and Farm Lane. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change. See link for details: www.modot.org/node/94555

Heads Up! Missouri Route 47 at Warrenton opened to traffic late this evening, August 17, 2026 following a special “ribbon joining” ceremony to mark the completion of the bridge replacement project, over Interstate 70. Weather permitting, as early as August 14, a resurfacing project is scheduled to begin on eight disconnected sections of U.S. 61 Outer Roads in Lincoln County. Work on the following segments will begin as early as:
• August 14 - U.S. 61 OR, from John Creech Rd. to end of state maintenance
• August 17 - U.S. 61 OR, from Route U to end of state maintenance
• August 20 - John Deere Dr./College Campus Dr., from Bueneman Ln. to Route C in Moscow Mills. This section is scheduled to be milled in the late evening during non-peak traffic hours to alleviate congestion.

Once the Moscow Mills section is complete, operations on the remaining sections will pause until tentatively late September.

YOU'RE INVITED! Join MoDOT and the Improve 70 Alliance Team for a milestone celebration! The Improve I-70: Warrenton to Wentzville project team will host a celebration to commemorate the opening of the new MO Route 47 bridge over I-70 in Warrenton on Monday, August 17, at 5 p.m.

In place of a traditional ribbon cutting, the team will host a special “ribbon joining” ceremony to mark the opening of the new MO 47 Bridge. This structure serves as a vital link for the community and will restore seamless travel between the north and south sides of the city to directly reconnect residents, businesses, and services.
