On the fifth day before the show, my true horse friend gave to me: EIGHT best-turned-out awards (Thank you Shapley's). Seven hunters in the breed class, six great seats in the grandstand, five pairs of polished boots, four style-of-riding awards, three hunter derbies, two fox-hunting pairs a-jumping, and an entry in a one-ring heritage show, WHS!

In 2025, Alexandra Gilbertson and Rock n Roll were the Shapley’s Hunter Classic’s Best Turned Out.

We are incredibly grateful to Mars Equestrian for their generous support of the Warrenton Horse Show as a Cornerstone Donor

Horses have been woven into the history of Mars for generations, dating back to the 1930s and Milky Way Farm, where the Mars family bred Thoroughbred champions—including 1940 Kentucky Derby winner Gallahadion. Even the iconic SNICKERS® Bar was named after one of the family’s beloved horses!

Today, that equestrian legacy continues through MARS Equestrian and its commitment to horses, riders, the sport, and the communities surrounding them.

The "Style of Riding" award at the Warrenton Horse Show is sponsored by Bill Rube and presented during featured events like the Hunter Classics and Derbies. It honors riders who display exceptional horsemanship, classic style, profound respect for their horses, and positive sportsmanship both in and out of the ring.
