Warren County Ambulance District is excited to cheer on one of our paramedics, Grace, as she steps into the ring for the 2026 Budweiser Guns 'N Hoses! 🥊

While the competition will take place inside the ring, the mission behind the event is what makes it truly special.

Guns ’N Hoses raises money for The BackStoppers Inc., a nonprofit organization that provides ongoing support to the families of fallen first responders, including police officers, firefighters, paramedics, and EMTs. BackStoppers also assists first responders who suffer catastrophic injuries in the line of duty. Their support helps families navigate the financial challenges that can follow an unimaginable loss or life-changing injury.

We’re proud to have one of Grace for representing WCAD in an event that honors the sacrifices first responders make every day. Now it’s time to show up, show support, and cheer her on!

We are proud to share that Warren County Ambulance District was recognized at the East Central Region Life Saving Awards alongside our partners at Warrenton Fire Protection District and Warren County Emergency Communications Center!

This recognition reflects the teamwork, preparation, and dedication of the emergency responders who work together to care for our community during its most critical moments.

We are grateful for the medical direction and ongoing support of WashU EMS Physicians, as well as the continued training and education that help prepare our crews to respond to high-acuity emergencies. These moments highlight the importance of working together, continually improving our skills, and being ready when our community needs us most.

We also want to recognize Wright City Fire Protection District, Wright City Police Department, and Warrenton Missouri Police Department, who were honored for their roles but were unable to attend the ceremony.

Congratulations to all the agencies and individuals recognized. We are proud to serve Warren County alongside such dedicated partners!

October Board Meeting Recap

The Warren County Ambulance District Board of Directors recently held its October meeting. Here’s a look at the key items discussed and approved.

Staff Report:

-Chief Lenk: The new Durango has arrived and is awaiting graphics before being outfitted for service. An ambulance was also involved in a motor vehicle accident and is awaiting a Stryker inspection to finalize the insurance claim.

-Deputy Chief Alcorn: Continues working to improve emergency operations plans, including preparations for winter weather.

New Business:

-Property and Liability Insurance: Higginbotham presented a comparison of its property and liability insurance offerings with the district’s current plan. The Board approved hiring Higginbotham as the district’s new insurance broker beginning in 2027.

-Healthcare Renewal: Brock Hendricks of First State Insurance presented healthcare renewal options. The Board voted to renew with First State Insurance for another year.

-2027 Tax Year Notifications: The Board authorized the distribution of SB-870 notifications for the 2027 tax year as part of the district’s routine tax process.

-Patient Care Computers and Docking Stations: The Board approved the Feathershark quote for new computers and docking stations for all ambulances.

-Government Lease Agreement: The Board approved a 10-year lease agreement with First State Community Bank to finance three new ambulances, the Durango, and new computers for ambulance documentation.

-Maintenance Storage Facility: The Board discussed constructing a storage facility at the decommissioned helipad at Base 3. The proposed building would consolidate maintenance equipment currently stored at various district facilities. The Board voted to table the proposal until November to allow for a more detailed quote and specifications regarding the facility’s intended use.

September was another busy month for our crews, with a high call volume while also providing EMS coverage at various community and special events throughout Warren County.

We’re proud to be whenever and wherever our community needs us.

Our crews had a busy weekend supporting several community events across the district. From parades and motocross to school events, we enjoyed being out in the community and spending part of the weekend with the residents we’re proud to serve.
