Produce season has officially arrived! ๐Ÿฅฌ๐Ÿฅ•๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ…๐Ÿซ‘

These amazing volunteers spent their morning sorting through fresh donations of kale, cherry tomatoes, spaghetti squash, bok choy, and more - ensuring everything is in top-notch condition and beautifully displayed for our clients!

Afterwards, they loaded up their cars with extra produce and delivered it directly to our local senior-living communities.

We absolutely love this time of year because it means we can provide our neighbors with nutritious, fresh food. A huge thank you to our incredible team and community partners for making this possible!

During the summer months, we know household food budgets are stretched extra thin. Thatโ€™s why weโ€™re making food support as easy as possible to access this summer! We've teamed up with our amazing community partners at Fauquier County Public Schools, FRESH, and Fauquier County Public Library to make food readily available to families!

Twelve years ago, Fauquier FISH sent home our very first Weekend Power Packs with a handful of Fauquier County kindergarteners. As the Class of 2026 walks across the stage today, it is incredible to think that some of those very same students might be receiving their diplomas.

While we don't track individual names, we love the beautiful possibility that FISH may have played a small part in their journey. But truly, whether we supported an FCPS1 child with food just once, consistently over the last twelve years, or never at all, we are incredibly proud of everything this entire graduating class has accomplished.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026! We wish you nothing but the absolute best in your next chapter. ๐ŸŽ‰โœจ

Each week, our space is brightened by an amazing group of volunteers who walk through our doors with open hearts, ready to serve. From our Power Pack crew to the high schoolers that help keep our pantry shelves stocked, each of these individuals are a vital part of our FISH family. We truly couldn't do this work without them. ๐Ÿฅฐ

Today was all about celebrating these wonderful people! We paused the workflow for a little volunteer appreciation party filled with laughs, great conversation, and a quick Taylor Swift dance party. ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐ŸŽถ One of the highlights was a beautiful, spontaneous toast from our sweet friend Vennie. He shared with his teachers, peers, and FISH staff how much volunteering has meant to him.

With the school year wrapping up, we are saying a temporary 'goodbye' to these incredible faces. Itโ€™s going to be a quiet summer without you all! Please know how deeply important you are to our organization. Have the best summer break, and know that we absolutely cannot wait to welcome you back with open arms next school year! ๐ŸŽ’๐ŸŸโ˜€๏ธ

We are thrilled to announce that FISH raised over $10,000 during Northern Piedmont Community Foundation's campaign.

These funds are vital in our mission to provide food security across our community, especially for our senior citizens! Today, one of our amazing volunteers had a birthday. How did they choose to celebrate? By spending the morning helping to organize our next senior delivery and then bringing cake and coffee to one of our senior clients. ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿ’“
