Today, August 31, we recognize International Overdose Awareness Day. This year’s theme, β€œ25 Years On. Still Needed,” reminds us that overdose prevention, education, and compassionate action remain essential.
In recognition of this important day, the Warren County Health Department partnered with Warren County EMS to provide Naloxone and Hands-Only CPR training led by Chris Tucker.
Thank you to Chris Tucker for sharing these lifesaving skills and to everyone who joined us for this important community training. Your willingness to learn and participate helps make Warren County safer, more informed, and better prepared to respond during an emergency.
Together, we can raise awareness, support recovery, prevent overdose, and save lives.

🦷 Building Healthy Smiles Across Warren County! πŸͺ₯✨
On August 20, 2026, the Warren County Health Department had the pleasure of participating in Open House events at several Warren County schools to provide children and families with dental health education and resources to help build healthy oral hygiene habits at home.
Our team was represented by:
🦷 Mariam Boyd Elementary School – Cathia Pope, Program Assistant VI
🦷 Northside Elementary School – Rhonda Mushaw, Health Education Supervisor
🦷 Vaughan Elementary School – Karen Prince, Health Educator I
Through support from the Delta Dental Foundation, the Warren County Health Department received grant funding to support our Smile Warren Kids Program. This partnership helps us provide oral health education, dental hygiene supplies, and other resources to children and families throughout Warren County. We are grateful to Delta Dental for investing in efforts that encourage children to develop healthy oral health habits at an early age.
Children received dental goody bags filled with fun and practical items to encourage healthy smiles, including:
πŸͺ₯ A dental smile kit with a plant-based toothbrush, toothbrush case, floss picks, and toothpaste tablets
πŸ“š Dental activity and coloring book
😁 Alcohol-free mouthwash
🦷 Tooth saver for lost teeth
⭐ Stickers and tooth-shaped erasers
πŸ“… Daily dental brushing card
⏱️ 2-minute toothbrushing timer
πŸ–οΈ Box of crayons
🦷 Tooth-shaped fidget stress-relief puffer
These resources were provided to make learning about dental health fun, engaging, and easy to practice at home. Establishing good oral health habits early can help children understand the importance of brushing, flossing, and caring for their teeth as they grow.
The Warren County Health Department, with the support of the Delta Dental Foundation, is proud to continue promoting healthy smiles and supporting the oral health of children and families throughout Warren County! πŸͺ₯🦷✨
