The Arcola Fire Department is proud to announce the recipient of its very first Senior Scholarship Award, presented to Keyara Hedgepeth in recognition of her academic excellence, leadership, and commitment to serving the community.
Keyara was selected based on her outstanding achievements, including maintaining a 3.9 GPA and submitting two strong letters of recommendation that highlighted her dedication, character, and work ethic. In addition to her academic success, Keyara has played an important role in community service efforts alongside the Arcola Fire Department.
With the support of the Fire Chief and department members, Keyara has helped lead the department’s annual Thanksgiving Meal Giveback for the past three years, helping provide meals and support to families within the community. Her willingness to serve others reflects the values and mission of the Arcola Fire Department.
Although Keyara was unable to attend the award presentation due to work commitments, the scholarship was proudly accepted on her behalf by her parents, Brian Hedgepeth, a Lieutenant with the department, and Jessica Hedgepeth, a dedicated board member.
The Arcola Fire Department congratulates Keyara on this well-deserved honor and is excited to see all that she will accomplish in the future.
