WIC joins world celebration

The NECAC Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program joined in the celebration of World Breastfeeding Week at the agency’s Warren County Service Center.
Global theme of the Aug. 1 to 7 observance is “Breastfeeding for a Sustainable Start in Life: Strengthen What Works." NECAC offered supplies, information and treats.
The agency administers WIC in Warren and St. Charles counties. More information about the program is available by calling 636-456-2933 in Warren County or 636-240-7350 in St. Charles County.

NECAC joins National Night Out festivities

NECAC Warren County Service Coordinator Angie Brunson, left, and Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Supervisor Jackie Brown participated in Warren County National Night Out
The free event took place Aug. 4 at Truesdale’s Bruer Park, and brought together a variety of organizations to showcase local resources.
Brunson and Brown discussed NECAC programs with residents and handed out brochures. People with questions about the agency can call 636-456-8191.

Fans available in Warren County

NECAC Warren County Service Coordinator Angie Brunson, left, recently welcomed a donation of 25 fans from Nicki Lowery of Home State Health.
The fans are available free on a first-come, first-served basis to income-qualifying elderly and disabled Warren County residents.
People who want to apply should call the NECAC Warren County Service Center at 636-456-8191. Hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays to Thursdays.

NECAC to host public hearing in Section 8 program

NECAC will host a public hearing on its annual plan for administering the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program.
The plan is to be submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) as a compliance requirement to receive contracted funding for the Lincoln County Public Housing Agency (LCPHA).
The hearing is at 10 a.m. June 10th at the NECAC Pike County Service Center, 815 N. Bus. Hwy 61 in Bowling Green, LCPHA covers Lewis, Lincoln, Macon, Marion, Monroe, Montgomery, Pike, Ralls, Randolph, Shelby and Warren counties in NECAC’s service area.
The annual plan and public hearing are part of contract requirements and describe NECAC's administration of the program, which provides partial rent payments to income-qualifying applicants.
