It takes just a few moments to confirm, and the last day to change ahead of this fall's General Election is October 13th.

Houses are infrastructure, not investments.

Funny how housing became unaffordable right about the time homes became investment portfolios

This was not a good year, not even our best year: This was just our First Year!

The Clatsop County Wolfpack is growing and we're activated here on the North Coast. Here, two of our local organizing leaders, Clara Sroufe and Tom Jenkins, were able to speak directly with Maurice Mitchell, the National Director of the Working Families Party, about how empowering it has been to have both a state-level and national party that is moving with a sense of purpose & urgency to meet the challenges facing working families.

Even in the rural Oregon Coast, we're calling in people who have felt disappointed, forgotten, or simply left behind by "politics as usual." We are showing what is possible when communities come together to reclaim their power, channel it towards creating change that will lift our neighbors' weary spirits, and make those who benefit from systems of inequality uncomfortable.

Even now, barely 2 months and a wild week until the General Election, those same entrenched powers know their authority is being challenged. New leaders are emerging, from often unexpected corners of our communities, and they dare us voters to take bold action this fall. Think Bigger. Dream with Your Whole Heart. Dare to Demand Better.

North Coast residents have survived, thrived, and persisted because we have grit. Because we are not afraid to chase the American Dream. We have made it through conflicts, droughts, wildfires, massive floods, countless storms, and made it through together. When we come together, we're ready to build our future and block adversity from setting us back. When we come together, we're strong enough to fight for a better community for our families, our friends, and our neighbors.

And when we fight as WFP, WE WIN! Whether you're ready to howl, ready to growl, or just looking for a political home where you belong, there is a place for you within the Clatsop County Wolfpack. Come run with the Wolves, Clatsop County!!

Running for mayor is not an activity for the faint of heart. Luckily, we've got a leader ready to stand up and accept the challenge in Astoria.

The Clatsop County Wolfpack is proud to announce that Sean Davis has earned the endorsement of the Oregon Working Families Party in his next public service adventure. Sean has a special knack for bringing together community leaders, local businesses, and other partners looking to improve the lives of working families in the City of Dreams.

Voters are encouraged to look for Sean's name on ballots this fall and to choose a leader who knows how great this community can be when we focus on the values we hold in common as neighbors, friends, and Oregonians.

The Clatsop County Wolfpack is howling with joy to share that Michelle Valigura, candidate for the City of Cannon Beach City Council, has been endorsed by the Oregon Working Families Party as a champion for working families in southwestern Clatsop County!

Michelle is a local artist who set down roots years ago, having discovered what a fantastic corner of Planet Earth the North Coast is. She operates her own art gallery in Cannon Beach, and you may have seen some of her work elsewhere recently, as she has loaned it to the stickers & buttons used by Astoria Housing Initiative (also endorsed by WFP).

Look for Michelle on your ballot this fall, Cannon Beach, and help bring her to City Hall!!

Our keynote speaker for the Oregon Working Families Party Convention Dinner, the inspiring Maurice Mitchell, could not contain his joy at the progress we are achieving in Oregon.

We also couldn't believe it ourselves to get name-dropped in his speech. "When I go to other states, I tell them to look at Oregon. And when I tell them to look at Oregon, I tell them to look at communities like the Clatsop County Wolfpack - Working Families Party, because that's what movements look like. They aren't built by consultants; they are built by hard-working people."

Mo provided context as to how the WFP victories elsewhere is making larger things possible here in Oregon, and how our ability to utilize a hybrid form of fusion voting allows Oregon to lead the West in ways not yet possible in larger states. Democracy here remains much closer at hand for working families and we must keep striving to build a multiracial political home for the working-class here in Oregon, and win in numbers great enough to produce governing power.

Candice Williams, Executive Director of For All Families Oregon (Yes, FAFO!), speaking to the audience on the urgent need to continue organizing among our professional caregivers here in Oregon. This nonprofit is an advocacy, communication, and educational voice for the paid & unpaid labor that caregivers provide in communities and households across our state. The struggles they face disproportionately fall upon women, as well as women from communities of color, as well as the vulnerable population that receives the care needed.

You can follow along as the conversation continues and Oregon Working Families Party continues to support our partners in coalition by looking to on Instagram.

When we speak about healthcare you can rely on, we're fighting for our caregivers. When we speak about childcare when & where you need it, we're fighting for our caregivers. When we speak about a good-paying job where you can join a union, we're fighting for our caregivers. When we speak about housing you can afford, we're fighting for our caregivers. When we speak about time off to spend with your family, we're fighting for our caregivers.

When we talk about what the Working Families Guarantee will provide, we're fighting for this and we will continue to fight until we have delivered for working people. Oregon has already passed Paid Family Leave. Join the WFP movement and we can do so much more!!
