Our Story
As many of you know I have worked in the fire protection industry for over 20 years and in the fire service for over 33 years. It all started as a kid always wanting to be a fire fighter. In 1985 I joined Central Bucks Ambulance and Rescue and Midway Fire Company. In 1991 I moved to Doylestown Fire Company, where I am a proud life member today. From 1999-2009 I was a member of Warrington Fire Company, and serviced as Chief from 2007-2008. From 2009 to today I am a proud member of Nottingham Fire Department. I am a PA State Fire Instructor, an Adjunct Instructor at Bucks County Community College, and a member of Keystone Fire Instructors. I graduated from The Hun School of Princeton in 1985 and Delaware Valley College in 1995 with a BS in Ornamental Horticulture. I hold over a dozen Pro-Board/IFSAC fire certifications and multiple NFPA Certifications. I worked a little bit in the fire sprinkler field during and after college at Tilley’s Fire in Doylestown. So in 1999 when Doug Horn and Jim Lyons gave me an opportunity to come work for them at Advanced Sprinkler Technology, it was a no brainer. I worked in the field a few years and in the early 2000’s I was given the task to grow their Service/Inspections/Retrofit Department. We started with me in the field and Patti McGuriman in the office and over the next 10 plus years we grew it to be a giant part of the company. In 2017 I was given the opportunity to purchase the division and branch out on my own. So here I am starting out DTB Fire Protection in December of 2018 at our new location. We basically took the trucks, customers, tools, equipment, material, employees and packed it all up and moved to our new Warrington location. Our expert staff will continue to provide you with all your fire sprinkler needs, with the same excellent customer service as we have for almost 20 years. Doug and Jim at Advanced Sprinkler Technology are not going anywhere. They will still provide their existing and new customers with the same design build new construction fire sprinkler needs as they have since 1991. We have great things coming in 2019 so please stay tuned and follow our page for updates.
Thanks for your time,
Dan Hinkle
