In preparation for the predicted bad storms that may impact our area, the North and South Storm Shelters will be open and available beginning at about 6:00 pm this evening Friday. We encourage everyone to be weather aware and stay safe.

Also be mindful that no cats, dogs, or other pets are allowed in the storm shelters.

Hopefully we are not impacted and everyone has a great weekend.

A message from the Chief of Police regarding the 5K in Warrior on Saturday, October 3rd.

Warrior 5K Run

The “Run to Defeat the Monsters 5K” will be held this Saturday, October 3rd, 2026, beginning at 8am. The run will begin at the softball fields, the route will cross Hwy 31 at 5th St and travel up Brake St, go past the old school and football field, eventually crossing Hwy 31 for a second time at Kemp Dr, ending back at the ballpark. The run should end before 11:00am. The streets will only be blocked as runners pass, then reopen. This should prevent inconvenience to our citizens and provide safety to our runners. We ask everyone to please pay attention and be patient as runners pass by and please watch out for our officers that will be providing assistance during the run.

Thank you all for your assistance,

Scott Praytor
Chief of Police

ONE OF OUR TRAFFIC LIGHTS IS HAVING A MONDAY 🙄

We are aware that the traffic light at Main Street and Church Street is not working correctly. Specifically, the light facing the traffic on Church Street has apparently become very fond of the color 🔴 and is staying that way for way too long.

Since Main Street is a state road, we have reported the problem to ALDOT and asked them to give the light an attitude adjustment. In the meantime, we have temporarily blocked off the short section of Church Street between Caldwell Drive and Main Street. Fortunately, there are several easy alternate routes around the block, so the detour should be a minor inconvenience.

We appreciate everyone’s patience while ALDOT works to convince our traffic light that 🟢 is also a good option.
