Lockdown Lifted at Warroad School Following Investigation

The Sheriff’s Department received a 911 call at approximately 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 19, reporting a potential active threat at Warroad School. Law enforcement officers responded promptly and placed the school on lockdown as a precaution while the situation was investigated.

Following a thorough investigation, authorities determined that there was no credible threat to students or staff. The lockdown has since been lifted, and the school has resumed normal operations.

There were no reported injuries.

The Warroad Police Department thanks school staff, students, and the community for their cooperation and patience during this incident.

The Police Department recently got a new squad and it seems to have created some confusion from residents about what agency this squad belonged to. If you see a new white Chevy Tahoe with a law enforcement badge on the door, that belongs to the Warroad PD. We’re working on getting new decals for it but for the time being it is marked as show below.
