Officer White is the definition of dependable, always there when you need him. He is known for his pleasant smile and willingness to step up without hesitation.

We are honored that multiple departments we recognized, those being - the Kitchen, Classification, and Security Department!
Each of the standouts are the very definition of dependable. They step up without hesitation, lead by example, and constantly raise the bar for those around them.

Your professionalism, compassion, teamwork, and willingness to go above and beyond do not go unnoticed. From maintaining safety and security to supporting one another through challenging situations, you make a difference daily.

Thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and the pride you take in your work. We are grateful for all that you do for our facility and our community.

Training days are crucial days at NNRJ! Today, our team completed four vital sessions focused on PREA, Staff Harassment, and Su***de Prevention.We are incredibly grateful to the wonderful instructors who shared their time and expertise with our staff. By investing in regular education, we ensure our team remains prepared to maintain a secure, safe, and healthy environment for everyone inside our facility.

This Mother’s Day, our Women’s Empowerment group at NNRJ created a staff entrance board that truly speaks from the heart. Working on this program reminds us every day that people are more than their worst decisions. Through conversation, creativity, and support, you can see the humanity, strength, and growth in each of these women. NNRJs programs is proud to manage a program that helps restore hope and reminds them—and all of us—what really matters. 💗💐

Please join us in congratulating Officer Deffenbaugh, as our Employee of the Quarter.

Officer Deffenbaugh was initially hired as a Jail Officer and has since been reassigned to the role of Classification Officer, where he continues to excel and make a positive impact.

He consistently sets the standard for what it means to be a dedicated team member. Known for being hardworking, dependable, and always willing to step in and help whenever needed—including picking up additional shifts to support the team. He remains calm under pressure and approaches every task with a strong sense of priority and importance.

Officer Deffenbaugh goes above and beyond for his coworkers, maintains a positive attitude, and is known for his smile and kind words to those around him. He exemplifies NNRJ’s culture of Extreme Ownership through his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. He also collaborates effectively across departments to ensure operational needs are met.

Officer Deffenbaughs daily efforts and commitment to doing his very best do not go unnoticed. We are proud to recognize him for his outstanding contributions.

Last night, Northern Neck Regional Jail hosted its 29th Annual Governing Bodies Dinner. It was a great evening bringing together staff and community partners to recognize the people who make a difference in our daily operations.

Guests had the opportunity to meet team members from a variety of departments, highlighting the collaboration that keeps our facility running smoothly. We also recognized three 2025 Employee of the Quarter recipients, along with our 2026 1st Quarter honoree, Officer Deffenbaugh.

Superintendent M. Lewis took time to acknowledge each department, expressing appreciation for their dedication, professionalism, and high level of service.

The evening was filled with fellowship, recognition, and valuable networking with the partners, advisors, and employees who contribute to our continued success.

NNRJ would like to extend a special thank you to Horn Harbor Restaurant for hosting the event, dinner was outstanding, we couldn't have asked for a better meal. Thank you also to Four Season Flowers in Callao for the beautiful arrangements and to Clements Tent Rentals for the linens as always you provide superior service.
