🌼 Wildflower Alert! 🌼

Looking for the perfect spring hike this weekend? The wildflowers are putting on a show at the park! The Western Wallflower Trail is the place to be right now. This trail features open rocky glades and oak savannas. Because of the park's unique landscape, you may see plants here that aren't found in many other state parks.

It’s also a great spot for birdwatching and photography, especially with the views overlooking Truman Lake.

Park Closed Dec. 1-4, 2025 - Park will be closed from sunset on Nov. 30, 2025, until sunrise on Dec. 5, 2025, due to a managed deer hunt. Only registered hunters and people working the event will be allowed in the park. Camping will be unavailable to the general public from Nov. 29
through Dec. 4.

The Wallflower Trail and the Thousandth Mile Trail are now open to the public! Sorry for the delays and we are working on getting the campground back fully open as well as the Bluff Ridge Trail. Updates to follow.

Unfortunately we have not had time to get to all of the campsites before the weekend. Our sincere apologies for any inconvenience. Our primary concern is the safety of all of our visitors.

The park, or at least part of the park was hit by a tornado Monday evening. Park staff have been working diligently to get the park ready for Memorial weekend and we have already made significant progress. Thank you all for your patience as we work to restore the park as quickly as possible. And remember, you are always welcome in Missouri State Parks!
