Behind every number is a person. Behind every household is a story.

In July, The Food Pantry served 2,455 individuals from 753 households in our community. Each person who walks through our doors has their own unique story, challenges, and hopes for the future. We’re honored to be part of their journey and to provide a place where neighbors can find support and encouragement.

Welcome, Emma Berger!

We’re excited to welcome Emma to Combined Community Services as our new Community Resource Navigator!

Emma is here to walk alongside individuals and families who may be facing difficult circumstances and aren’t sure where to turn. Whether it’s navigating paperwork, completing applications, understanding eligibility requirements, finding the right organization to call, or simply figuring out what to do next, Emma is here to help.
Are you a nonprofit serving individuals or families in Kosciusko County? If you have someone who needs more assistance than you’re able to provide, Emma can be a trusted resource to help them navigate the next steps. She can also connect with local organizations to learn more about the services they provide and make direct referrals. If you’d like to be included on the CCS partner resource list, reach out to Emma to set up a time to connect!

Are you an individual or family going through a difficult season? You don’t have to figure it all out alone. If you’re unsure who to call, where to go, or what resources may be available to you, Emma can help you find a place to start.

Emma brings a genuine passion for helping people who are struggling, and we’re so grateful to have her walking alongside our community.

Tools for School is a one-day, free event on July 29 at Lakeview Middle School. Families across
Kosciusko County can walk in and leave with school supplies, shoes, clothing, haircuts, and
connections to community resources.

One of the most important parts of serving families well is knowing that we were never meant to do this work alone.

When a family comes to Make Room needing food, our goal isn’t simply to fill their kitchen for a few days. We want to help connect them to resources that can continue supporting them long after that immediate need is met.

We are incredibly grateful for the VanBuren Twp Food Pantry, North Webster Food Pantry and Combined Community Services for allowing us to refer families directly to their food pantries.

These partnerships mean that when we meet a family who is struggling, we have somewhere trusted to send them next. Somewhere they can continue receiving food, support, and connection within their own community.

Make Room can help bridge the immediate gap—but strong community partnerships are what help create a longer-term safety net for families.

This is what it looks like when a community makes room for one another. ❤️

Kiira leads with compassion, vision, and a genuine love for the people and community we serve.

Her dedication to CCS and to our community is evident in all she does. We are so grateful for the way she leads our team, champions our mission, and continually looks for ways to make a difference in the lives of our neighbors.
