FAQ: How does a CASA volunteer differ from a Family Case Manager?

Unlike Family Case Managers, who work for state agencies and manage many cases, CASA volunteers handle only one or two cases, allowing for deeper engagement. They work alongside FCMs to provide dedicated advocacy and independent recommendations to the court.

What happens after training? How are volunteers assigned a case?

After training, you'll be assigned one case at a time, giving you the opportunity to focus on understanding a child's unique needs. With guidance from your CASA supervisor, you'll review records, learn the child's story, and begin building connections with those involved in their care.

CASA of Kosciusko County is a nonprofit that recruits and trains community volunteers to serve as Court Appointed Special Advocates for children in local abuse and neglect cases.

These volunteers build relationships and gather information to provide the court with recommendations for informed decisions about a child's future.

At the heart of our work is a simple belief. Every child deserves the opportunity to grow up in a safe, supportive, and permanent home.πŸ’™
