Wyoming County Sheriff's Mounted Unit Formed in 1973, the Wyoming County Sheriff's Posse is a volunteer not-for-profit corporation. The Mo

All volunteers donate not only their time with the Mounted Unit, but also supply their own horse, truck, trailer, and tack. The mounted Unit survives on donations from the public to continue maintenance on their grounds that are used for training and providing uniforms for public outings. We also support the local 4-H community by allowing them to use the WCSMU grounds for horse shows.

2 members of the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Mounted Unit made it to the Little World's Fair in Hemlock NY for Livingston County Sheriff's Mounted Unit Competition. All that competed had fun and we had excellent weather, No rain until later. Thank you Livingston County Sheriff's Mounted Unit for Hosting a fun event. Thank you Rose Oconnor for taking pictures! Corp. Mary McNall and her partner Pearl, had a very good run through the course. Capt. Jacquelyn Copeland land (Jackie) and her partner Handsome also had a very good run through the course and took first place.

Sheriff's Mounted Unit had a very busy day yesterday! It started with the Father's Day show. And Wow!! What a large turnout!! English, Western, then Games! On top of running the food stand with hamburgers, hot dogs, salt potatoes, and all the other good food we sell, we also had a chicken barbecue. 😋 It was all hands on deck at the show. We even celebrated one of our members' 70 birthday. Happy birthday, Barb!!
Once the chicken barbecue was all sold out, 2 of us left to get our horses ready for a detail. We had the pleasure of leading the parade for the Wyoming County Volunteer Fire Department Convention. This year, it was held in the village of Wyoming. There were a lot of units from our county with their trucks and their marching volunteers. We had the opportunity to ride our horses around
the village before and after the parade. A beautiful village with gaslight street lights. It was an honor to lead the parade!
