📣 **Attendance Matters!**
We are excited to announce that our attendance efforts are paying off!
Chronic absenteeism is defined as missing 10% or more of the school year. That equals approximately 18 days or just 2 days each month.
During the 2025–26 school year, RVLSD’s chronic absenteeism rate improved from 22% to **17%**!
A special shout-out goes to River View High School, where the rate dropped from 31% to **21%** , a remarkable **10-percentage-point decrease**!
Thank you to our staff, students, and families for emphasizing the importance of showing up every day. We could not have achieved this progress without everyone’s efforts!
We will continue building on this momentum throughout the 2026–27 school year. September is Attendance Awareness Month, and we will be holding special activities each week.
