10 things Benton County voters should know for the August 4, 2026 Primary Election!

1.) There are 3 political parties recognized in the state of Missouri - Democrat, Republican, and Libertarian.

2.) Each of those parties will be represented and have a ballot available at the August 4, 2026 Election.

3.) You must choose one of those ballots in order to vote. The whole purpose of a Primary is to nominate the candidates from each party represented to go on to the November General Election.

4.) Currently Missouri is an Open Primary state - therefore you are not "registered" as a specific party.

5.) You must be a registered voter by July 8, 2026 to be eligible to vote in this election. (RSMo § 115.135)

6.) If you move from one County to another County but stay in Missouri, you must update your Voter Registration in your new County and vote in your new County. Please do not return to your old County or polling place to vote.

7.) This Election was certified to our office May 26, 2026, therefore all names certified to us on that date will appear on the ballot. Those candidates who might drop out or cancel their campaign will STILL BE ON THE BALLOT.

8.) You will need photo identification to vote.(RSMo § 115.427)

9.) First day of absentee voting is June 23, 2026. First day for no-excuse absentee voting is July 21, 2026. Last day to absentee vote for this election is August 3, 2026 you can absentee vote by coming to the County Clerks Office between 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m and 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. We will also be open Saturday August 1, 2026 8:00 a..m.-12:00 p.m. for absentee voting!

10.) Polls open at 6:00 a.m. and close at 7:00 p.m. on Election day!

REMINDER: Missouri law prohibits electioneering within 25 feet of the entrance to a polling place. Campaigning, displaying campaign materials, and wearing apparel advocating for or against a candidate or ballot measure are prohibited within the electioneering zone. (RSMo § 115.637)

The City of Warsaw, MO and The Warsaw Police Department received official word from the Missouri Department of Public Safety that we have earned the Missouri Blue Shield designation for 2026. This honor recognizes Missouri communities that demonstrate their commitment to enhancing public safety, investing in and supporting law enforcement and building partnerships between law enforcement and our community.

Cole Camp Police Department Receives Missouri Blue Shield Designation

The Cole Camp Police Department is proud to announce that we have received the Missouri Blue Shield designation.

This designation reflects our department’s commitment to professionalism, public safety, community partnership, officer training, accountability, and proactive service to the citizens of Cole Camp.

Over the past couple months, our department has worked to strengthen operations, update policies, improve training, and build partnerships that better serve our community. This designation is an important step forward for our department and may help position us for future public safety opportunities, including grant funding and equipment improvements.

We are grateful for the support of our Mayor, Board of Aldermen, city staff, community partners, and the citizens we serve.
