🚨 Community Safety Alert – Duplin County 🚨

Duplin County law enforcement agencies are actively working together in response to several recent acts of gun violence across our communities. Over the past 72 hours, multiple shootings involving occupied homes have occurred throughout the county. Thankfully, no innocent victims have been seriously injured, but these reckless acts put lives at risk and will not be tolerated.

📍 Recent Incidents Include:

▪️ Saturday, May 16 – Warsaw Area
At approximately 2:00 a.m., deputies with the Duplin County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of multiple shots fired into a residence.

▪️ Sunday, May 17 – Near Beulaville
Again at approximately 2:00 a.m., deputies responded to another incident involving shots fired into an occupied dwelling.

▪️ Sunday, May 17 – Wallace
At approximately 10:00 p.m., the Wallace Police Department responded to a shooting into a home on North College Street.

Law enforcement officers from the Wallace, Warsaw, and Beulaville Police Departments, along with the Duplin County Sheriff’s Office and agents with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, are working diligently to identify those responsible and determine whether these incidents are connected.

We are asking for the public’s assistance.

This is not about “snitching.” This is about protecting our communities, keeping families safe in their homes, and holding violent offenders accountable. Someone knows who is responsible, and the information you provide could help prevent further violence.

If you have any information related to these incidents, please contact any of the involved agencies or call:

🚨 Speed A Little, Lose A Lot 🚨

The Warsaw Police Department would like to remind everyone that a statewide speeding enforcement campaign will be taking place March 30 through April 5.

Our goal is simple — keep our roads safe. Speeding not only puts you at risk, but also everyone else on the road. During this campaign, officers will be actively monitoring for speeding and other traffic violations.

We encourage everyone to:
✔️ Slow down
✔️ Stay alert
✔️ Follow all traffic laws

Let’s work together to keep our community safe. A few extra minutes is always worth it.

On Thursday, March 26,2026, Chief Bentley and members of the Warsaw Police Department had the opportunity to visit Warsaw Elementary/Middle School for Career Day, and it was a great experience for everyone involved.

We truly enjoyed spending time with the students, answering questions, and talking about what it means to serve in law enforcement. It’s always rewarding to connect with our youth, share our experiences, and hopefully inspire the next generation to pursue their goals—whether that’s in public service or any path they choose.

Building strong relationships with our community starts early, and events like this help strengthen trust, communication, and understanding between our officers and the young people we serve.

Thank you to Warsaw Elementary/Middle School for the invitation and for allowing us to be a part of such a meaningful day. We look forward to continuing to engage with our community and support our future leaders!
