An important message in today's The Providence Journal: "a sobering statistic from the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention: For every person who kills himself or herself in this country, another 25 make the attempt. Many of those will try to do so more than once. Some will eventually succeed."
Two much-admired celebrities took their lives this month, a stark reminder that emotional pain isn’t bound by class, fame or wealth. It can disable anyone among us, persuading us that our lives aren’t worth living.
